Belated Duck Breast

Tea was a bit late tonight :hmm:, well why should this be ? , I took my dog out till it was dark to make it a shorter evening , getting back home the first thing I done was put the oven on , got everything ready then stuck it in the oven and put the timer on , closed the curtains and blinds and made a cup of tea while it was cooking away , after 20 minutes I wasn't getting the smell drifting through to my lounge like I normally do , so taking the cup back in the kitchen I then noticed I had put the oven on but didn't turn the heat switch on , silly me , so a slightly later than normal tea , I had Gressinghall Duck Breasts and my normal veg , the gravy was done from the water from the steamer as one of the members recommended , this was polished off with Cherry pie and cream , verdict , the duck wasn't as taste'y as a wild Mallard , so another tea that was just alright .

I've never had much success with the Gressingham duck breasts either.  OK, but not a great deal of flavour and often come out 'rubbery'.  Gravy made with veg water is the best way.  Nice selection of plenty of veggies as well.

That was the best part of the tea , followed by the veg and the gravy , I think I have been spoilt on nice corn fed shot Mallard , our first shoot is in two weeks time and I normally bring home a good duck and one of this years long tail .

By the way J D K , my drive and garden is all back to normal and you wouldn't really know what up evil I have had , got to ring the water company up Monday as they wanted to know how much water I have used in the last two weeks as it will be two weeks since I was put back on . fingers crossed  :good:

If you don't get a refund, your next stop is the Ombudsman 👍

BTW,,,,, I had Waitrose Morello Cherry Crumble with Madagascan Vanilla Custard for my pudding last night 😃😋

Morning JKD , I need to tread lightly in case they bring the call out charge into play when the plumber cut through the main , failing that I think they will sort something out to my advantage , I will keep you in touch .

I like Waitrose Madagascan Custard which I treat myself to now and again , not sure if I have had the Morello Cherry Crumble , come to think of it if they are the small pots for one and come in a pack of two then yes I have had them , I will heading to the one up the coast around 2pm , a lovely day here at the moment , the heater is on as it is nearly bath time and I am now about to change the clocks , some of us have still got the ones you have to do yourself .

The MCC was from their No1 range. It's probably meant for two people as it's in the "Dine in for £12" meal deal, but it's manageable for one hungry person 😄
