Duncanjw268
I’ve recently sent of my application for a shotgun certificate in Scotland and was just wondering roughly how long until the police will be in contact regarding it. I’m in no rush for the application to be processed however I want to avoid waiting for months only to find the form never made it to the FEO and was lost in the post or something. Does anyone have any idea if the police will let me know when they receive the application or just when they want to come and inspect my cabinet? Yellow Bear
Just check your bank statement, the minute the cheque lands they cash it. This also has the added advantage that if they loose the rest you know they had it.

Genghis
They don’t let you know by default, but if you send an email asking for confirmation of receipt of your application then they should respond to that.
vmaxphil
Just done my renewal online with wiltshire and got a response that they received it. Give it a month, then send them an email politely asking if they received it 👍
BobbyH
Welcome to PW! When I applied for my SGC when I was living in Stafford. It took 3 months from submitting the application to getting it in the post, that included Christmas leave and post office strikes. When I moved addresses to a new police force in Norfolk, it only took a week I think from submitting it to getting it back!
