Houseplant
Yellowfin tuna sashimi with nam jim sauce for lunch. This has become our favourite fish dish over summer. Probably not one for Ditchman and the Pie & Mash Brigade 😀 So glad I joined this British Cooking Forum! JKD
Is the tuna eaten raw like that, or does it 'cure' in that sauce ? Looks delicious 😋 ps...... could I place an order for a lamb box and some tuna steaks please 🙏 😆

ditchman
can never get to grips with the idea of eating raw fish....just seems wrong in this day and age......was doing a job in london on a sunday and the boss turned up and was so pleased with us...that he went to M&S and bought a shed load of that japanese uncooked fish and stuff for 6 guys...........we were all starving ...when he turned up and unpacked the food ....you should have looked at the lads faces....we didnt say anything and promptly walked off in search of hot cooked food.................. This is really a fusion dish. Japanese would eat it raw with no dressing. The Thai nam jim source contains lime juice, so that will get to curing right away. We don't want to over do it, so the cure goes on a few minutes before eating.

Thanks 👍 Sounds great, but living predominantly on my own [partner lives 50 miles away 🙄] it's tricky sometimes to get to do some of the lovely food I see on here,,,, and elsewhere of course 😀 Tried the Japanese type,,,,, not for me 😖
