Tim. what is the fitting on the barrel for a silencer? as for life span as long as its not been abused a 2nd hand one will be fine. if you have a tread on the end to screw it on to I would go for a Air Arms, logun or a Weihrauch. BSA Shaun
The best silencers money can buy are Weirauch
08shooter
weihrauch (hw) is a brilliant silencer i cant see anything else topping it.
snipper
for an airsporter i would of thought it will be a slip on silencer but to be honest it wont quieten a springer very much .... it will get rid of the crack but not the mechanical noise
TPR1966
Hello mates and thanks for the replys The end of the barrel has no thread so I think a push on silencer is what I would need Diameter is 15mm Ok mates I'' keep my eyes open is the sales section and elsewhere, thanks again

ULTRA.22
hw silencers are good but awt are better allthough nearly twice the cost
SAVAGE HMR
I'd go with the Weirauch silencer or a Logun Q.G.S.
SNAKEBITE
weihrauch (hw) is a brilliant silencer i cant see anything else topping it. I have heard that some custom mods are better but for off the shelf excelence Wackers are the best. IMHO.
SteveieP
try this youtube link. there's video of a direct comparison of parker hale, Logun & Weihrauch, so you can judge for yourself.
loopy bunny blaster
logun silencers are brilliant, and so are the daystate carbon ones. there is a carbon one for sale on here for £

relivingmyyouth
Nice link Stevie P. Oh and by the way, I have 2 Bisley moderators and they are both absolutely rubbish. Complete waste of money. Don't bother with them
SteveieP
See you've got a Typhoon on your list of guns Mr Relivingmyyouth Hope it's a proper over-lever classic & not the more recent break-barrel ones. Now here's a proper plinking pistol... a Hurricane! Mine's circa 1981 & in reasonably good nick. May just have to get it out of the loft & give it a whirl for the first time in a while.LOL
relivingmyyouth
Unfortunatly it's the new one. My brother had the old one 30 yrs ago and it was good but as a ten year old kid I couldn't cock it. However me and my lad get loads of fun out my .22 typhoon. Best £50 I've spent for a very long time. I even killed a big fat woodie with it. Trouble was, I was aiming to miss !!!!
flukeyluke
The sak silencer is superb on an air rifle and they cost under 30 notes too.
Timelord
What about the Theoben vortex silencers?? I had one on a 12/200 mk1 rapid and it was not audible from 5 feet away which is pretty good, although this was on a 12ftlb rifle but on an FAC I hav no idea how they perform....
