Had three yesterday whilst decoying OSP, moved hide once after shooting the first one within 5 mins and then nothing for an hour, same happened when I moved first one within 10 mins and then nothing. Third one picked up whilst having a quick walk to stretch the legs, silly pigeon flew through a gateway crossing in front, gun up, bang and down he came.

Good news is the flocks seemed to have split up as all the birds I saw were in twos and three's.

Pigeon shooting is finnished for me until late summer so here is my revised totals for 2008 ( excluding birdsm posted in early January.

Having just had the day I have had I can see why to be honest.

Spent from 2pm - 8pm out today. Tried something different today as the going has been so hard, I went and set up with magnet and deeks on a wheat field underneath a sitty tree that I have seen used regularly every time I have been up there. It is in between two OSR fields, and because the birds weren't really flying about I started there. a small flock of about 10-15 took off as I approached and once set up neothing came back, so uprooted and moved to the OSR to try and get them as they flighted over. Birds decided to use the other end of the field even though the farmer said that they have left that end alone since I have started shooting there. Fired a scare shot and the birds on the field lifted and circled and the trees over to the right erupted with 100+ getting up.

Nothing came over and so I packed up and went and sat under the trees. Sitting down on a convienient tree leaning over, back to the trunk, I was able to just watch the local cock pheasant population fight it out as well as being next to the small pond a hen mallard come whiffling in unaware I was there even though I was in plain view (Camo mask on).. Nothing happened there, so I moved to the large wood and waited for the birds to come to roost.

Only one came in and unfortunately for it, I was right under it and bang down it came. Crop stuffed full of OSR, but direction it had come from suggested neighbouring farm, so maybe thats where they're all feeding.

So new total 7866
