Wild Ravens

Hi,

We were ferreting this morning on some land behind my Gran's house. Anyway as I was collaring up the ferrets my Dad said what's that on the telegraph mast up there? On closer inspection it was a pair of ravens and their voice was unmistakable and definitely not that of a crow. It all adds up as the owner of the land I was ferreting on said he saw an immature bird sitting on his house in the Summer. I also saw them again later in the afternoon on the edge of the woodland.

Anyway something a bit different I have never seen in Wiltshire before. ;) Only time I have seen wild ravens was with the choughs on the Welsh coast. Does anyone else have any on the land they shoot on?

FM

Unfortunatley NO just Crows and an awsome sight yesterday morning when I drove to Glanton at the Alnwick and Thrunton crossroads at the Bridge of Alnwick pub there was a CLOUD of black and there HAD to be at LEAST 3000 rooks taking off from their roosts :o

Man I could have had some fun there in the morning with a semi auto B)

I see ravans all the time when I go and help look after the perigrines nest from pigeon racer fans. Where I go its great no one for miles and its an old mining place so you get all these buildings, burns/streams, traintracks and allsorts.

I didn't know you did nest protection, Dusty.

Good on yer B)

Gotta keep them flying rat freaks off the Peregrines. :o
