loopy bunny blaster
a semi will do everything a pump will do. but with a pump you know its going to cycle flawlessly when you need it. hence the military use them.

njc110381
Some places will not like a pump gun much, but they are the ones who also wouldn't like a semi. Clay clubs will probably take the p*** (mine did when I had the Xtrema!) but they should on a serious note be fine. I think a pump is better than a semi and an O/U on safety grounds, as the second shot is not there on the second pull of the trigger unless you ask it to be. The only problem is people can't see them broken like the O/U or S/S. Get what you want, any club that wont accept them is obviously a little stuck up and not the sort of place that will be fun anyway

pin
I think they are great fun, I don't own one but I will at some stage - just waiting for the right one. Every time someone brings one out everyone wants a go and they always seem to put a smiles on boat races
vole
I used a semi for a while but got rid in favour of sbs for various reasons. Seeing the U.S exhibition shooters show the pump has pedigree, not just the machismo factor from the movies.I hope to have one after replacing my Hushpower for foxing etc.I like the sight plane of single barrel guns. Gully
I shot a SPAS12 recently, Pump or Semi a the flick of a switch. Complicated though....

mr_colt
If you suffer from eye-dominance problems, it can be a lot easier with only one barrel to cope with. My scores with an O/U were terrible. I switched to a semi and things drastically improved. I later found out I had "middle" eye dominance, otherwise know as "no-eye" dominance. The bad opinion some people hold over pumps is unfounded really; it is probably easier to see a pump's action is safe as the sliding foregrip would give it away. I wouldnt expect much recoil reduction unlike what you get with a semi though. mr_colt.
JohnGalway
Shot a pump once, couldn't get on with it. I can see where reliability would come into it with regard to police forces etc but in reality for our type of shooting I believe a semi is best for the job. I've got a Baikal MP-153, tough as nails and it's never failed to cycle any cart I've put through it.

Duck
Lots of people like the Baikal MP153 but I really want the MP154 A Pump and semi so you get the best of both worlds. But I've never seen one over here.
