Don't get a 90 LV as I appear to have the only one available that doesn't need work every week.

Pajero SWB V6

LB

in fairness LB

LV ain't gonna be spending 10K :good: :good:

For eleven years i fought the LR corner tooth an nail, an truth be told i'd have another tomorrow if it was new or as good as but since i turned Japanese (The Vapours-1980) you know what it means :good: i ain't looked back

Matt for your budget go for a Surf or SWB Pajero

that way you won't get your nails all mucked up :):D

Hi LV

Thought Ide chuck my two penneth in:- Pajero.

Great on or off road. I'm now on my 2nd one. LWB Exeed 2.8 Intercooler Auto.

Both of mine have been superb. Very tough, comfortable and reliable, and loaded with spec.....character0182.gif

On that budget it depends how many you want to get in it.

For offroading the short wheel base will give you more ability, and I'd say go jap as well, I've a fourtrak that goes most places and still goes to work day in day out. plenty of room for the dog in the boot but is only a 3 door so getting many in the back gets interesting.

If you want something with cheap parts and cheap to mod while still being a shooting bus I'd have to say a discovery may fit the bill you do get a lot for your money but you do need to be careful what you buy. You get a bigger and cheaper range of aftermarket goodies for it

For that kind of money a surf seems like a reasonable option, but my top choice would be a Pajero, and if its just for fun the V6.

Landys are great but they are costly, and jap stuff is pretty bulletproof.

So my list in order would be:

Pajero SWB V6

Hilux Surf

Defender 90 V8

Disco V8

Range Rover Classic V8

And if you really want something to kill - Jeep Cherokee 4.0?

All of the above come in diesel mate, but avoid the classic, the diesel in that is rough as old boots.

For a diesel for the money then:

2.5td Pajero

3.0td Surf

200 TDi Defender 90

Or as an outsider what about the Isuzu Trooper Bighorn? - Lotus Jobbie? 3.1 TDi

i would go landy. the jap stuff has too much to go wrong. mines a landy 90 2.5 turbo diesal and its lumpy and basic. theres not much in the way of exras such as electric mirrirs air con etc... but its less to have to fix
