fullbore
as the title says, which games console would you have and why, thanks for your help
BSA Shaun
Xbox 360. Best online play by an absolute mile. You can buy a plug in HD DVD Drive and have yourself a HD DVD Player for £80 ish Has Halo 3. At least Xbox made and effort and gave you nice new wireless controllers and ones that rumble! Only thing the PS3 is worth anything for is a bluray player and I don't see that taking off really Forgot to add the PS3 is rediculously over priced! Millomite
I got a PS3 for the reason that I was used to the controllers of the PS2 and the specs, in my opinion were better. Including a blu ray dvd player!!!
J@mes
PS3 is future proof for a while yet, online gaming is free, it wont break down, it wont deafen you when the fans kick in, and has Gran Turismo 5, when it finally comes out. XBox has more games. at the moment.
BSA Shaun
online gaming is free And so it should be, its terrible, Xbox is way way ahead on online gaming.

fullbore
I had an xbox which broke more than once so IM a bit against them which is why i\m asking, so far all i want is call of duty
Owenwill
Got the 360 not long after it came out, had a PS2 before but didn't want the wait for PS3, not online yet but plan to do so soon, mainly so my 9 year old can have some decent opposition on Fifa because he whips me on it. Have played call of duty 3&4 on a friends ps3 and wouldn't say from my albeit limited gaming experience that there was any difference from my 360 version of the same game
me and my lad
get a 360, but dont bother getting the hd dvd player, get an upscaler dvd player instead. there arent enough releases on hd or blue ray yet to justify either and the industry standards for blue ray dont look too wonderful compared to hd also know of a couple of people who've had to replace PS3 controllers already
J@mes
also know of a couple of people who've had to replace PS3 controllers already this is due to them being wireless you can hoof it RIGHT across the room now, rather than just the length of the cable! Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
Xbox 360 wireless controls on line gaming has to be played to be appreciated....even a technophobe like me can work it. I even win now and again too

lewis
thanks a lot loks fairly unanimous so far nahh goin against all a yous.. ps3 kicks the hell outa the xbox IMO , yes the xbox has the games right now, but thats because its been out for a while. ps3 is wireless, free online. looks ALOT better bluray(i could go on) but i think you cant beat the good old japense at technology... save the money from the xbox breakin down and get yourself the ps3 that will last the time Lew .out
artful badger
ps3 anyday, hd dvd is dying out so that extra add on player you have to pay for on xbox will be obsolete. why do people say ps3's are overpriced, look at how much a blu ray player is in the book of dreams (argos) and they're all more than the ps3, and they're not upgradable to 1.2 and later on 2.0 blu ray format. also look on egay and see how many faulty xboxs you can find compared to ps3's. americans arent as good as japs im afraid, its like harleys to suzukis. p.s i hate xbox
dustyfox
I would go for PS3 if you want blu ray as a lot of companies are backing away from hd that the 360 uses. But I like the xbox360 Edited January 30, 2008 by dustyfox
Owenwill
A lot being mentioned about X box breaking down as mine did before Xmas,(when the 3 red rings light up) but to be fair, rang the m.soft helpline and they told me they've extended warranty to 3 years to cover this fault, was picked up next day and back with me fixed within fortnight
waylett21
I've got both consoles, and would have to say the XBOX as far as playability, range of games and online play really does put the PS3 to shame. On the other hand, to get a blu-ray player included as well as a built in power supply the PS3 has some advantages. Sony have been incredibly slow to release games, and the online play might be free, but it is appalling! Either hi-def player is equally non-essential, as the discs are still overpriced and are exactly the same in terms of visual quality..Don't make your decsison based on blu-ray/HD, the fact is, i've got both formats and until the battle between them is over, you could be wasting your cash!!
