Harnser
Being an avid pigeon shooter ,i am also an avid twitcher .I always have my binos in the hide with me and spend a lot of time watching the wild life around me .Over the many years that i have been pigeon shooting i have seen just about all the wild birds in great britain . All the deer species have passed within a few yards of my hide without knowing that i was there and one time a roe buck laid down on the piece of laid barley that i was shooting . I once saw a two magpies feeding on a dead rabbit ,two be joined by a woody who started to rip into the rabbit as well ,i was amazed . One of the funniest things that i saw was a not so young couple who came onto the barley field ,stripped off naked and started to have sex .When they finished they decided to lay in the corn naked and sunbathe .As they were spoiling my pigeon shooting i got out of the hide and shouted how long are you going to be . They both grabbed their clothes and ran into the woods ,boy did i laugh . What have you seen . Harnser .
Cranfield
Lots of raptor activity, including marsh harriers, "rare" birds have included a bittern and water rail. Foxes attacking decoys, raptors attacking decoys eve4n a heron landing and tried to intimidate a bouncer. Human oddities have included walkers stalking up on my decoys, thinking they were real birds and a police chase where a transit came straight down a stubble field, through my decoy layout , quickly followed by two panda cars. All three vehicles caused carnage and then disappeared out of the bottom of the field and off down the road.

Browning GTS
Ive mentioned some of these before, A Perigrin landing on a shot pigeon, A glider landing and coming to a halt in front of me, a buzzard landing in the tree i was sat under, red kites all the time, lots of sparrow hawks but the last one 2 weeks ago was so close i felt the wind as it went past my lug, a stoat walking past a weasle coming out of a hole next to my welly and last Friday a mouse ran over my boot when sat in a hedge. Its not just the shooting that makes the day.
Blackbart
I was out last year, not in a hide but sitting up against a tree at first light waiting for a problem fox that was harrasing a pheasant pen when i noticed three roe deer come out of the wood and into the little copse i was sitting in,i was dressed in realtree head to toe and just sat there as they walked to within 12-15 feet of me,2 carried on browsing but 1 stopped and looked straight at me,i didnt move a muscle then it started to look around and sniff the air and then it started stamping its front feet and grunting!!The other 2 immediatly went on alert and started looking around, again 1 of them looked straight at me and held its stare for about a minute, meanwhile the first one continued stamping and grunting. Then it did something really weird it fixed a stare on me again and started to walk towards me!I must admit to being a bit freaked by this and i still dont know why but i stood up and said"BOO" You would think i had just shoved a hot poker up its backside,it shot off nearly knocking one of the other ones over, jumped the fence and nearly landed in a tree quickly followed by the other 2.Very strange to watch them so close up,but also amazing. auto culto
Had a heron settle down next to my pattern once which was strange as those birds have got some of the sharpest eyes out. Also had a buzzard land very close and slowly walk and peck its way towards the pattern, It seemed to be copying the pigeons trying to pass itself off as one untill it got close enough to attack my furthest deek Also had a few foxes walk by the hide casing the joint but none made it any further
Teal
Has anyone else noticed what I presume is an old bird coming in and leading a young woodie away from the decoy pattern. I've seen this on two or three occasions, of course it could just be a coincidence, but might there be something more to it?
deny essex
My son and i in the same hide on the edge of a wood got stalked by some Nazi's with their mausers and machine guns in hand, got to within 15 feet of us before they realised we were loaded for real and not the right enemy!. They went of sharpish and carried on with their war games , guns blazeing and thunder flashes going off blew our shooting outta the water , but they didnt wanna let us play
