Big_Sam
You won't be able to do that kind of shooting with a 3 shot gun.... Be prepared to be dissapointed...

vole
I was a bit sceptical about semis but picked up a Franchi AL48,inertia operated and its ace. Light as a feather and loads around at half the price of the Webley.Italian build quality now owned by Beretta.Have fun choosing mate. Oly
Personally I would stay away from the new Webley & Scott's, I have heard quite a few pretty poor reviews from users. I would do as Vole suggests, or buy a secondhand Beratta, or an Escort. Not everyone gets on with semi's so it may be worth buying something like a used Escort to start off with for a year (they come up reasonably regularly for ~£200) then if you find it is what your after you could look at upgrading. Thanks. PS Check these videos out. VIDEOS REMOVED> I don't think that the rap/**** music and the high-pulsated slaughter of the second video does much to put sport shooting in a favorable light. Loved the first video, though. Just mind-boggling how good those guys and those Benellis were! mr_colt
I have used the Webley 810 black synthetic on clays with 28gm 70mm carts. It performed like a dream and was well built for a budget gun. I think he put some bigger loads through his but; he was testing the camo model which is gas-operated I beleive. The walnut and black synthetic are recoil-operated instead. Aside from Webley's mechanisms differing; going for camo is an aesthetic choice that you are going to have to decide with regards to your intended shooting. I'm not interested in wildfowling myself so camo wouldnt be my choice but, fowlers were buying the camo Webley's faster than some dealers could stock last year. Though my advice should be treated with caution as I would quite happily target-shoot full-bore rifles in walnut over synthetic if I had the choice. Despite wanting a semi as a primary shotgun for when I start shooting again; I have always wanted a nice 12b SBS hammergun. Bit of a traditionalist methinks. mr_colt. Wookie
I'm going to throw my hat in the Beretta ring. I have an Urika 2 and it's wonderful, but if you are going to be doing a lot of foreshore shooting, I'd be tempted to go for an Extrema. Trust me, quality stands out and Beretta are quality. Robby22
another beretta vote, i own a urika, and its faultless, light loads heavy loads etc, my dad emptied a 100 bag on rats, and it was faultless! really good guns!!

biblejohn
I went for a beretta 391 semi as my first gun and have to say its brilliant. Ive had it years now and its always reliable. I get through about 100 cartridges in a clay shooting session and have only ever had 2 not feed properly. Its quite a light gun so you can swing it around fast, and hardly any recoil. The only downer I find is having to pick the empty cartridges up afterwards!

Well I was handling an 810 black on saturday, it was gas operated, a straight copy of the berreta
