Fleabag
last few days on eBay for my week end toy, I have read lately of disgruntled pajero owners and the diesel variants. are there any issues with the v6 models both with engine and drive train. I know the running cost side of things but will only cover about a thousand miles a year, I intend to strip paint off and paint NATO green and add some chunky rubber, put a sunroof in the back minus the seats, install a steel rifle cabinet and use this to stand on whist shooting, what do you think fellow hunters, buy or not. Cranfield
I think you really need a response from Paj owners, or lurcherboy. You see quite a few older ones on the road and they seem to be going well. For what you want it for, if the price is right it might be worth a punt. al4x
big question is why do you want a Pajero, you don't get that good a shooting platform and they do like a drink. Also running an elderly 4x4 paj you'll find loads of issues from it not getting enough use.

al4x
battery will take a pounding then as will most of the electrics and brakes etc. With older vehicles lack of use causes the most headaches.

If that's all me thinks I will get sister to start once a week and drive round the paddock thanks for info,
pin
It's fair to give my impression of Paj ownership. I've had to replace the two batteries but that was due to a relay keeping the internal lights powered, eventually it killed them. I replaced with massive american RV batteries for about £135 and it's been perfect since. Gets used less than once a week, starts every time. When I go foxing I start/stop it 20-30 times a night and it still keeps going. With the sunroof retracted it's a PERFECT lamping platform, the driver can also take great shots off the wing mirror. Mine's not got offroad tyres on (though I have them) and I've not been stuck yet. Overall I rate it.
triscrx
Yeah the Pajero did come as a 3.5 V6 but not in SWB I dont think, I have a 3.5 V6 pajero for sale. But its far to nice to strip down and paint NATO green Awesome vehicle just too juicy for me as I have a little one inbound in Sept so looking for something less juicy. Reliability Isnt an issue with a Pajero in my opinion mine has been good as gold. Stunning vehicle be gutted to sell it. HUGE sunroof on mine so is awesome for standing in the back and shooting from. How much do you want to spend? If your only doing 1K a year then fuel cost Isnt really an issue. Long Tax & Mot on mine only asking £2500ovno Pics below for anyone interested: Tris. triscrx
One thing I would say and its the reason I went for the LWB is the boot space isnt too good on the SWB. I do alot of Scuba diving as well and the boot space is perfect for lots of kit on the LWB. If its only going to do 1K a year maybe think about the LWB. Also good for laying in the back in the prone position when sniping rabbits.
