palombier
Whilst out shooting at the weekend I shot a right and left of a rabbit and a stoat. I wondered if anybody else has had any unusual right and lefts they might like to share? This is certainly my strangest. A friend of mine shot a Greylag and a teal with the same shot last year. Fisherman Mike
Not a left and a right as such, but only a few weeks ago I shot a rabbit in longish grass which had about half its body sticking up and when I went to retrieve it there was another one underneath both completely dead. ( what a way to go ) My best L & R was a pigeon and a mallard on a semi flooded stubble field near Welney some years ago both were high birds and coincidently although coming from different directions landed within about a foot of each other. pigeon master
I supose my best right and left would have to be two smackheads that I caught breaking into my van. Just two pigeons for me, I have had two with one shot though if that improves things.....didnt think so The PM
Guest Mr Pieman
Some years ago my brother shot a bolting rabbit and then......my dad :*) :*) He'd been told hundreds of times not to shoot any rabbits crossing a stone track but ignored the advice. A pellet riccocheted off a stone and hit my poor old Pa right between his eyes. He was NOT happy PP
red_stag88
Ohhh. My best is a pair of high pheasants. I have seen a chap shoot a woodcock, eject the cartridge, see another woodcock, close the gun, flip the selector and kill the other!

eugene molloy
About a million years ago, before you lot was even considered, I spent a couple of holidays in Cong, Co. Mayo, shooting woodcock. There was (and undoubtedly still is) a big trout fishing fraternity on nearby Lough Corrib, and one of the leading lights was the local Garda (Rozzer) sergeant. Whilst on his lawful occasions (skiving) along the Lough side with his trusty 12 gauge fishing stick he spotted a pike sunning itself in the shallows. Kerblapp! (as the Gaeltacht has it) and farewell Esox; filled with lead. At which point another one leapt from the water only for Yer Man to give it the second barrel. I know this is true because didn't Himself tell me so in the pub the next night, and my Mum always taught me to respect the Polis. I have seen a chap shoot a woodcock, eject the cartridge, see another woodcock, close the gun, flip the selector and kill the other! been there done that no T-shirt or cigar, although they did taste bloody divine.I did have a season where all I did was drop two birds for one shot when out wildfowling mallard&wigeon,2 mallard,2 goldeneye but best of all 2 pinkfeet! My best bud Jimmy however managed on his 1st goose trip to bag not one but two R&L`s at pinkies then next time at the ducks two R&L`s at mallard, while I stood around like a spare one.....
