I've been a member for a while now,so I thought I'd say hello.

I've been Into ferreting, fishing and airgun shooting since I was a kid.

A few years ago I bought a female Harris Hawk,

Since then everything else has taken a back seat,

Hard to explain why, The excitement, The addiction ? Who knows.

And that's me.

Hi Mal.

Taf, I thought there was a bit of a chance you were Welsh. lol

Ye, Some can make a noise.

Don't have the best of voices do they ?

I'm from Bargoed Mate, Yourself ?

:good: you'd be suprised how many don't know an ask where im from.

i don't really mind the noise, it keeps all the magpye's and crows away too. im from st mellons in cardiff, i work away quite alot live in chippenham at the moment but allways come home as often as in can. not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow :yp:

Cheers AXE.

Hi Sirocco. Is that Chris ?

Mate it's awesome.

Like everything else though, it has its highs and lows.

The highs - Your dog is working, the hawk recognises this and gets above him, bunny bolts, but goes to ground. ferret goes in rabbit comes out, hawk and dog both race after it. If your lucky you get to see the hawk chase it down and nail it.

The lows - You go out with bird ferret and dog. You don't see a thing for hours then the ferret kills in. Hawk gets ****** off and disappears after a crow.

At the end off a hard day just you and the dog go home.

The next day ( or week) is spent trying to find the hawk.

Mostly though , like I said it is AWESOME.

No im not chris,

was talking to my mate from belgium, he will only take the hawk out with him, not the dog as well, he says it just complicates things 10 fold, and the hawk is not concentrating 100% on looking for quarry as he has an eye on what the dogs doing,

wishing you happy hunting
