Maiden22
Clinton, Obama - God help the world. Wouldn't vote for either of them at gunpoint, although I think that Obama is the worse candidate. The Democrats must have lost their minds. McCain seems like a decent man, and is undoubtedly enormously brave and patriotic. But I couldn't vote for him because of his adherence to the climate change theory. Robert

JohnGalway
I'd vote for McCain I don't like the Democrats anymore. They won't win unless it's an Obama Clinton ticket. Here's hoping Hillary will vent by sabotaging Obama and not endorsing him. I've been following it, he's very snobbish.

As for his wife, with all that "For the first time I'm proud of my country" rubbish, God only knows what she'll be like if she gets to the White House. He makes soothing noises, but looking at him I would say that he's the most left-wing candidiate that they've ever put up for the Presidency. Sundowner
WHo cares? Does anyone in here really believe that anything is really going to change? They are all politicians and this means by my definition that they are all freeloaders, liars and lack any common sense ! May they be called Bush, Blair, McCain, Obama, Clinton, Kofi , Brown etc etc etc

Cranfield
I think that any candidate that can break the Bush/Clinton stranglehold on American politics that has existed for the last 18+ years, has to be a potential breath of fresh air. McCain is just a rehash of Bush and I believe the Republicans are very worried now that Barack Obama is confirmed as the Democrat nomination. As long as Hillary doesn't strongly endorse Obama or if she doesn't get the VP or another top job offer I don't see why Republicans would be worried. It's been a vicious nasty Democratic nomination, most of the bad feeling is amongst the Democratic voters, not the candidates themselves. Now, I have heard many many Hillary supporters say they'll vote McCain if they don't win, which they can't. So if Hillary doesn't give Obama a strong nod at the least I don't think he can win, they're too devided otherwise. McCain is no Bush. Cranfield
Many Republicans I know say they will not vote at the next presidential elections, rather than vote for McCain. They are very disappointed with the choice of an old man (albeit a brave man with an exemplary war record) as candidate. With the strong possibility of reclaiming the White House, I bet the Hilary supporting Democrats will vote Obama, rather than have a republican President. Only time will tell. JohnGalway
We'll have to have a friendly wager Cranners, once the Dem VP is sorted I notice Obama has formed a "comit-eeeee" to pick the VP. Obviously a man who can make decisions by himself It doesn't look good for Hillary that Whatshername Kennedy is on it though.
Th0r
well, there go your guns It would of happened either way. Obama OR Clinton. Check out what Gore Vidal's been saying regarding Obama. He reckons that Obama will be dead within a year. As do I, I cannot [And neither can my friends, In Montana] can figure out how he one there. It suits the Democrats to have an African American Presidential Candidate rather than a female candidate.
petethegeek
Check out what Gore Vidal's been saying regarding Obama. Gore Vidal is also suggesting, somewhat impishly, that McCain should face a court martial for "wrecking his plane in Vietnam."

Cranfield, after Bush the Democrats shouldn't need to campaign - they ought to be able to just send a kid to pick up the keys to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He's loathed by Democrats, and he's not much more popular with the Republican base. But I think that they've picked two terrible candidates that a lot of people simply won't vote for. I don't think it's got anything (or at least, not much) to do with race or sex either. As you say, though, only time will tell. Anyway Cranners, I'll have a fiver on McCain if you're up for it . Dr_Scholl
He won't be taking anyone's guns. Congress is too pro gun for any big anti firearm legislation to pass. He'd like to, though. He supports banning all semi-autos.
