Evil Elvis
I was supposed to go back to my permission with all the pigeons on it today but Wobba and i cracked on with the rendering and after he left i carried on grouting my bathroom.....I ******* hate diy!!!!!!!! So Lisa was watching the soaps and i was irritable....did I mention I hate soaps? I crept out with the style and 2 miles from my house is a small farm of about 20 acres, a sheep farm with an orchard in the middle. i crept in to the orchard, got to the end without seeing a rabbit, looked accross the feild to my right and there was a bunny sat with his back to me at 80+ yards( i have measured the feild all the way down and it averages between 80-85 yards). Handily there was a y shaped apple tree for me to use as a giant pod......i zoomed in on his head and gently squeezed, but as i did it stood up and caught a thumper straight in the heart, it then got up...ran through the sheep fence and into the next feild. Hmmmmmm..i was not impressed, i walked over and couldnt see anything, i then walked along 30 yards form where i hit it and there it was with a hole you could poke you finger through....adrenalin is a funny drug!!!! In the feild on the other side of the orchard is an old metal 40' container which the bunnies have colonised the underneath of. I waited 70 yards from it and sure enough a bunny came out, followed by 2 more, and all promply went behind a pile of pallets!!!! So i slowly crep out into the feild to try and get a better view, i did...of their ***** going down the various holes!!! So i plotted up under a tree about 50yards away , put on my vale and laid still. after about 15 mins out comes a nice fresh lookinbg young'un, i kept so still the silly sod just kept lolloping towrds me(dusk), until it was 20 yards away, i gently squeezed the trigger....and missed!!!!!!! It ran back to the hole and gazed back long enough for me to put a sub through his skull...smack...DONG...straight through and into my steel backstop!!! IAt this point I had had enough gnat bites and decided to go home, as I walked back through the orchard a movement in the far feild caught my eye and again was at 80 yards, sat there bold as brass uopp on hind legs looking at me.....zap.....headshot and bunny number 3!!!!! I walked back through the farm and the farmer came out and asked me what i had bagged, I said 3 young healthy bunnies for my snakes...."Sod your bleeding snakes, give us one here for me dinner tomorrow!!" and i gave him one of the 2 headshot ones!!! Couldnt really say no could i? So there you go, no records, no super long range shots...just 2 hours of shear pleasure and i also saw a small brown owl about the size of a pigeon....any ideas on what type?!!!!!... the front rabbit as you can see was the chest shot one, there an exit wound half way along...means my bunnies are lead free for the snakes lol.!!! bob300w
nAH, IF IT TASTES LIKE CHICKEN...IT HAS TO BE CHICKEN....THEY ARE STRICTLY FOR MY SNAKES!!! If you wish your snakes to grow up with strong healthy minds, I would suggest that you change their reading matter, I do not consider the Daily Sport a suitable publication for young snakes of either sex. I hate those shots, it seems impossible to miss and then Good write up I would agree with little owl as well, there is one on the golf course regularly that won't let me get any nearer than about 50 yards so I can never get a decent picture of it. Yep, little owl gets my vote also. As for those can't miss shots, can't explain that one. I was under the impression that it was due to snatching the trigger, so I have tried this deliberatly on the range, result? It makes no difference. I do find though with the close ones, if you select a specific part of the target, e.g. a shoulder joint, as the target, rather than the whole creature, it works. Evil Elvis
Just looked and Im 99% it was a young tawny. funny really as a few years ago i was fishing and a guy had at least a1,000,000 candlewatt power light on his float, which sent a beam across the lake, In the beam was a coot bobbing around...i happenned to be watching it when a large owl swooped down, grabbed it off the water and flew away...id always asumed it was a tawny....well it clearly wasnt....more likley an eagle owl judging by the size compared to a coot.
