Fisherman Mike
My biggest chub from the upper thames at Castle Eaton. Wilts. Im sure there will be an explosion of big Chub in the next few years due to the numbers of American Crayfish now inhabiting the water. The fish was taken on a king prawn on 4lb line to size 8 hook. The net is 2ft 3 ins wide at its widest.
Cranfield
Very nice fish. Your slant on the American Crayfish problem is interesting, I have only heard doom and gloom comments about them. I agree they are an interesting addition to the food chain.
Dunkield
That is a beauty, I have only ever caught them any size worth mentioning when pike fishing. I was talking to an old boy the other week who caught a 14lb barbel, he said they have gone through the roof size wise as well.
Fat Dog
Lovely looking fish that. I wish Chub and Grayling had made it across to Ireland. Love catching them. Especially enjoy my trips to the River Tweed to fish for Grayling.

Sprinter
That's a helluva chub, well done
Teal
A nice fish, the perch and pike of the Thames are also stuffed with crayfish. I wonder if an imitation could be tied as a fly, that would be exciting sport! Although the fish may be a little confused at the sight of a crayfish whizzing along the surface, I am confident that you could get some very aggressive strikes! Fisherman Mike
Nice fish...and it has no belly...thats potentially going to be a lot bigger!! The fish was almost 5ins across the back and I could easily have got a tennis ball in its mouth. You are right about the belly later in the season it could easily go over 6.. Ive seen some big Chub and Barbel in this stretch this summer, one chub was absolutely massive swimming in and out of the streamer weed with two barbel around the 7-8 lb mark and it didnt look dwarfed at all !!! Cheers. FM.
