Spaniel
To be honest mine is fine on all cartridges at present, 6s and 7.5s But i do keep it clean etc to avoid any **** to cause a jam I have heard that the 3.5 chambers jam more then the 3" but who knows
kev 1
Do you strip it right down to clean it or just take the barrell off and clean parts you can see from there? Edited July 10, 2008 by kev
Bucko
I've had a lot of trouble with mine jamming. When I bought it, it would not cycle 70mm carts, but wasn't too bad with 65mm. (Lyalvale supreme game 6's ). Eventually it would not even cycle them so it had to go back. The lifter did not come up high enough before the bolt was released and so it didn't get the cartridge into the barrel. When it came back it still jammed exactly the same, but now anything less than 70mm carts would cause a jam before it even got this far. As it cycled it would not shut the magazine tube off early enough and allow 2 carts to come out of the magazine. So back it went again. This time it came back and they said that the whole trigger / lifter block had been changed. I took it up the farm last Sunday to try it out on a few crows and I didn't have a single jam all day long with 70mm Hull Cartridge Sterling Game 32gm 5's. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's all sorted now. cheers Neil
_Spud_
Very odd, I have not had a single jam caused by the gun, I did one have a cart that got stuck when ejecting, but when I looked at the end it was malformed and that was the only one. I use 65mm hull carts, I can even cycle the 21g comp x all day long no problems.

deny essex
I have a 3.5 mag escort it wont cycle anything less than 32 gram irrelivant of shot or cartridge size , its normal for the 3.5 mag. But as already stated good cleaning and a light slider lube with any auto is always recommended, be suprised how much **** can get in its bits. Devon Fox
I have an fac 5 shot escort, had all types of bother with it ..... untill i started using 70mm shells, faultless gun now!
steve b
Mine kept throwing out two carts (clear pigeon 6's), back it went for an exchange gun and it did the same thing. Got a credit note and spent the money on something else and wont buy another. You should not have to waste money on carts to find which ones the gun likes as it should cycle any reasonable cart no problem (and it was a 3" chamber) I would rather get a second hand beretta than buy another Steve b
rsrjerry
my escort will cycle anything i put in it no problem ,have used all types of brands , shot size etc , not a problem , dont over clean it either just now and then give it a strip and clean and it is a working gun and gets lots of use .cant speak highly enough of them but then i suppose they are not all the same . mine must of been a tuesday or wednesday gun and not a friday gun as they would say Edited July 14, 2008 by rsrjerry
featherplucker
i had a problem with cartridges jamming so i emailed edgar bro's and their reply was... if i send em a copy of my shotgun cert they would send me a new slightly weaker spring and this should clear up any jamming. i have not got around to this yet so dont know if this will clear any jamming... hope this helps

foxyforce1
My escort jammed open the first time i got it....was away geting fixed for EIGHT weeks and the first time i used it when i got it back last saturday it to wouldnt cycle clear pigeon 6's and kept jamming open and miss firing etc needless to say its away back again and if i have to wait 8 weeks for it to come back theyl be keeping it, i to think that any 12 bore shotgun should be able to fire any 12 bore cartridge, obviously some guns will perform better with certain cartridges but they should all do the job. peter-peter
to repeat my words of 12 months ago most escorts are **** from day 1 you may be lucky and get a reasonable one. beretta's are infallible even the old ones. edgar bros got both mine back and they can bloody well keep em.
