Hi guys

I fancy getting a hide in a different colour, something close to yellow so I can fashion a hide near the centre of the field where the flightline seems to be. I feel I am visible against the yellow barley using my woodland camo net. Anyone tried the desert style army nets for this purpose?

Or do you feel it doens't make any difference to the birds?

Thanks

Si

I have used last year the army desert net. The bales where stacked up high and the pigeons were landing all over the field. I set up useing 1 of the bales stacked up walked away 50 yards from it, turned around to look at it and it blended in ok. I put my deeks out and did not have to wait long they did not notice the net nor me as every one that came into my patteren was well comited so i had a good day. I say it worked and it looked ok to me but as i said they where there any how. But i did get them to come to me with x2 bouncers and x12 becoys 1/2 shells on springed sticks to give a bit movemnet. i will try it again this year too as it worked well and the netting is not that exspensive. Give it ago it worked for me GOOD LUCK.

Last week I saw a chap with a standard woodland cammo hide, set up in the middle of barley stubble with some decoys out and a rotary, who he was having quite a bit of action in the 20 minutes I watched him.

The pigeons didn't seem to be put off by the different colour.

Its difficult to erect a hide in standing crops without causing a lot of damage , which Mr Farmer doesn't like.

I have walked up tractor tracks and set up at the base of a telegraph pole, right in the middle of the standing wheat, but picking up dead birds was still a problem.
