biakalblaster
made my own, as i had a shell thats identical (£4) and a mackies ice cream tub £2 cut up for the wings, worked well on my test last weekend, but needs a stgrong wind to get wings spinning
henry d
Woodpigeon do not flap/spin their wings when gliding into a group of birds, they GLIDE. When they are a few inches from the ground they then flap/spin/backpaddle their wings........therefore any spinning/flapping wings decoy needs to be at that height to be effective. Just MHO. Cranfield
I am very impressed with the hypa flaps, either on floaters or a rotary. They put a very realistic movement into any decoy layout and in my experience they pull in birds. Its a pity they appear to be so flimsy, although I have carried mine about for quite a few outings without any problems, I am always afraid I am going to break them. kdubya
made my own, as i had a shell thats identical (£4) and a mackies ice cream tub £2 cut up for the wings, worked well on my test last weekend, but needs a stgrong wind to get wings spinning hypaflaps don't have "spinning wings" the clue is in the title IE they flap, hypa's are a good bit of kit and work very well on a magnet I have had some for a couple of years now and they are holding up well, as for floaters / bouncers in a good wind the best I have come across apart from the real thing are chris greens, they work very well on days a magnet wont get you away, just a tad pricey imho cheers KW
malkiserow
I find Hyper flaps very effective and have now made some light boxes to carry them in but the boxes make them a bit bulky for a small bag. I made my own spinning wing deeks which do work as well (do a search on "pimp my pigeon". My spinning wing versions are very robust for carrying in a bag. The hyperflaps I would say are better at pulling in pigeons on a difficult day. There is no perfect answer...except maybe... dead pigeons work better than any plastic deeks.
