Lloyd90
RULE! ALWAYS treat a friearm as if it is loaded! ALWAYS! When looking at shotguns with a friend at my local RFD I still always checked nothing was loaded into the gun. NEVER take someones word for it, YOU make sure its not loaded before doing anything! Tragic loss, feel sorry for both of them! Edited September 4, 2008 by Bigthug87

Wookie
Jesus! That's terrible! Ok, anal I know, but I check that my rifles and shotguns are empty before I put them in the cabinet and then, even though I know they are empty, I check them when they come out of the cabinet and go in their cases. I can only say that my deepest sympathies are with the guy's family.
al4x
The only slight defence for the guy having it loaded is he was in a war zone I believe so despite being in baracks may have felt the need to be ready to go a bit quicker than the rest of us
