harv
Come on guys guess the auto? its a rare beast when i purchased this about 10 yrs ago it was the only one in the country and maybe still is. its great to shoot and very light for the size of it, i originally used it for practical shotgun but is now on open ticket for vermin also. its 8 shot, the screw on choke may be a clue to some? Harv Seems I missed this thread earlier It is a rare example indeed, I dont know of anyone using one in the UK currently, I saw one at a match in Italy in 2003 owned by a guy from Slovenia its effectivley a SPAS 12 with all the stuff you dont need taken off, Im sure without all the usless pump parts on its actually quite lightweight & shootable in everyday use compared to the SPAS/ Where did you get it ? Im not a big fan of pistol grips because they are a bit slower for competition use because of some of the start positions we use, but many people like them as they offer good control once you have hold of it properly. An interesting gun & a nice job on the paint too. N Edited October 29, 2008 by neil smith
harv
alright neil, I bought it from you are right this was actually franchi's first spas(special purpose auto shotgun) built really for law enforcement before they built the spas12...god knows why?. the internals are the same the only problem been the recoil buffers can wear out i have replaced two now and are hard to source luckily a friend has fabricated me some spares. the best feature is the quick employment safety fitted at the front of the trigger guard which can be pushed forward for off very quickly with the trigger finger within the trigger guard. the worst feature is reloading as the slide release button needs pressing to release the shell carrier plate downwards! harv Edited October 29, 2008 by harv
