955i
Just thinking as I ride motorbikes which are generally a bit cheaper over winter, is there a time of year when guns drop in price a bit and you can pick up a bargain or do the prices stay roughly the same year round? urikastu
Short answer no unless it's your birthday, then get your mrs to buy you one, it won't cost you a been then
Fatcatsplat
I think, very sadly, that the best time to buy will be early in the new year on forums like this where the crunch hits and people start looking to liquify their assets - With families to house, clothe and feed, the gun that spends 6 months of the year in a cabinet could make a few shopping trips easier. Fatcatsplat
As a bump to the last post, i meant from flogging the gun and not using it in ASDA!!!!!
Harnser
My experiance of gun shops is that the price on the gun is what you will pay . The gun shops would rather sell the gun into the trade than let you have it for a discount .Thats why i dont deal with any of them any more . Buy second hand preferably from some one you know .Or buy off this forum from a forum member ,there has been some nice guns for sale lately at a bargain price . Harnser . V8landy
The falling price of the £ against the Euro is pushing prices up a bit, but they will never come down. Its also supply and demand, etc. And if it all goes T*ts up the price of guns will actualy go up! Edited December 6, 2008 by V8landy

southernlad
I would go against most of the comments above and suggest that NOW is a good time to get a bargain gun. And don't be put off by sticker prices in shops - I recently bought my Browning Fusion Evolve from one of my local dealers. He originally advertised it for £699. A couple of weeks later it was still there so he'd dropped the price to £499. I went in the next day and gave him £460 cash for it. Which I think (and hope?) was a bargain! It's absolutely mint, in the box with all accessories and barely looks used. With the credit crunch hitting gun dealers will be suffering just the same as the rest of us, if not more so as a gun is usually a luxury item, not a necessity. therefore it's definitely worth haggling, even to the point of silly offers. You might just get lucky! SL
Cranfield
Its a sad but true fact that when times get hard, there is usually a glut of secondhand guns for sale and the prices fall. If you have any General Auctions near you make sure you get their catalogues, because the GunShops will "dump" a lot of the cheaper guns they have taken in part exchange at Auctions. As has already been mentioned, the price on the label in the GunShop is not the price of the gun (even new ones). The real price is what they can sell it at. There is a good markup on new guns and the Shop has quite a bit of room for manoeuvre. So make sure you bargain.
MM
ok, for those who didnt like it last time and removed it as with most things, they seem to be cheaper when there is an "incident". Flights to India will be cheaper over the next few months. When fuel prices go up, dealers lower the cost of cars. And as my views are as valid as the next mans, when there is a massive gun incident, they will be cheaper. Or will the mods see fit to remove this as well?
