Devilishdave
Never spanked up on the road but had a 70+ MPH off on the track which left me shaken and with bruised Kidneys, The bottle came back eventualy but The bike cost £1500 to put right. by the time I had stood up and went to the bike and stood it up the ambulance was there with a qualified doc on board who can request air ambulance asistance. which is more than what you get when you are trying to be a hero on the local public roads!! Dont get me wrong I am not preaching about larging it on public roads because I have been known to take the odd liberty . It did make me think though and now I try to keep the wild stuff on the track and ease off a bit on the road now. there is no Kerbs, armco or streetlights to get tangeld up with on the tracks i go on. Pike
Has anyone got directions to box hill please? digger
pike,if you are coming over the dartford crossing then jct 9 as dave said.as you leave the motorway its straight across the first two round abouts then right at the next and left at the one after (bottom of the hill).if there are loads of old bill about you will be warned by riders coming the other way.watch out in the high summer when they pull over every bike on the approach roads.the bike cops are usually fair,no problem with cans, number plates, visors etc but be wary of the traffic bods, they can be real mini hitlers. dave, have you done brands ? its the only track ive done would love to do the full circuit but only done the indie.only time ive ever had the back slide on me and the skid was nothing compared to that in my leathers :*) :*) Edited January 25, 2005 by digger

old rooster
I got a 996R and an MVF4 much better than the 999R
Devilishdave
the 996R Looks better than the 999R thats for sure!! Looks are not every thing though. I remember at knock hill coming of the end of the straight you drop down to the right around 90mph corner. I thought I was larging it big style, Knee down until a guy on a 999 came round the outside of me going 10-15mph faster than me. I was impressed because I was confident my bike did not have much more left in it. Dave
old rooster
Handling of the 996R is great as well (says the **** who binned it large at Silverstone coming out of Club corner a couple of years back ) Trashed mine on a track day, just let go with no warning at all, was running Michelin tyres and have heard loads of reports of similar incidents on road and track from guys in our club. So if you guys are running Michelins watch out if you get a bit enthusiastic with the volume control !!!. She's all fixed now, would post some pics but there ain't a forum here for that sort of stuff and I post too much here anyway, waiting to be bo**ocked by the admin guys any time now. One of the guys in our club wiped out a brand new Ducati demo bike at Mallory, he's a good rider, races himself and is a track day instructor but lost it large coming out of Devils Elbow. I'm a sane boy I am, used to race F2 sidecars
Cranfield
Hasn't anybody else wondered what rb5037 was looking for, when he typed big-boys.com into his search engine ? :(
Devilishdave
thse side cars are not for the faint hearted, my unckle did a turn for Jock Tayler when his normal guy was in plaster. I think I would sooner be the one in control rather than the mad passanger. Dave
old rooster
Blimey Dave, I never realised either of us was meant to be in control !!!. Jock was a star but went the way of so many other good guys.

old rooster
Can't put a pic as an attachment in this particular forum for some reason or I'd have put some of my bikes in. You can insert it if you have the image on a website somewhere else. Anybody know why some forums on the site have the facility while others don't ?
