humperdingle
Not really. We've only got a small mortgage compared to a lot of folk, and I suppose that's where a large chunk of a person's monthly chunk goes. Only one 8 year old kid aswell. I'm sure things will get more expensive on that front soon though!

Ozzy Fudd
not long days as such, but busy days. i get my basic salary and then a bonus for sales, but you really need the bonus to make up the wages; so still the same length of day but doing 2 or 3 times the work in it
chrispti
Some work is better than no work. Where I live in Hampshire, there has been a 50% rise in the number of 'job seekers' allowance claimants across Hampshire since November 2007. Apparently there are now over 20,000 people claiming job seekers allowance in Hampshire, up from just 12,704 at the end of 2007. And that's just from where I live! Jonno243
0930hrs - 2400hrs, 7 days a week, on a ship in the North Sea in winter. 17 days into a 40 day rotation at the moment and the weariness is REALLY starting to set in now. On the up-side I do have 5 weeks off after this (four of which will be spent fishing and relaxing in Costa Rica ) Things will eventually settle down into a 28 day on / 28 day off rota for me, which is much easier!
