Blackbart
This is number 13 for the year and 13 was certainly unlucky for him.An old dog fox and i think i caught him in the wrong place at the wrong time.I had just pulled into the farm gate and had a quick look and there was a hare about 100 yards infront of me and just over its shoulder i could see another set of eyes.Being the old dog that he was,he was trying to play clever and had pinned himself right down in the stuble and unbelievably he closed his eyes ! !(I dont think for one minute he knew his eyes were reflecting in the light, but if a fox was ever going to learn a stay alive tactic under lamp at night, that would be it)Unfortunately for him i was out the jeep in a flash and already had a bead on him.I couldnt see a lot of him so i gave him a whistle,he didnt move a muscle.I gave him a shout "charlie"...nothing.So i lowered the lamp so i could just see the dark patch that was him. After about 20 seconds he stood up ! Bang...the bullet went through him and came out his rear right hip taking most of it with it. The lambs have started to appear so should be busy in the next month or so. steve_b_wales
An excellent caliber mate. I use mine a lot for foxes. I load 55gr Hornady V-max. They make a hell of a mess when they hit home.
Lloyd90
Just been out with Redthunder and his 243, bloody hell they make a mess of a fox's head and goes clean through the boilder room with a well placed shot

Blackbart
I am thinking about a 243 and the farmer was just asking this morning if i could" take some deer out" as he put it.There is loads around his three farms and last night i must have seen 25-30 of them while out lamping. He is sick of them chewing his new trees and regards them as vermin. Blackbart
nice fox. 13th for the year i will have to pull my finger out only had nine so far this year. john 9 is good john.I dont know how this year is going to pan out as there wont be the crops around this year due to the wet summer, winter.I am used to fields and fields of rape but talking to the farmer he is not going to put "anything" in a lot of the fields this year,so the cubs will not have the cover.I am not sure if that will be good or bad.
