Lloyd90
I have currently a slot for a 22lr (Filled) and a 17 HMR (not filled) Now If I were to sell my 22lr Do I still get to keep the slot ? Or do I lose it ? As I would like to buy a different 22lr in the future (Or possibly do a 1for1) on the slot. How does it work ? Appreciate some help
Baldrick
If you sell the .22 (and mod), you must do a 1-for-1 variation if you want to buy a new .22 or trade the slot for another calibre. You don't lose the slot.
casts_by_fly
just so long as you put in the variation within 7 days of selling the 22 (i.e. when you send you notification of sale, send the variation with it) you'll keep the slot for free. I just got burned by not knowing that. Thanks, Rick
Lloyd90
What do you do for the veriation mate ? I will be selling the gun possibly, then buying the 17 I have the slot for Won't be buying the 22 for a while. Might even change it to a CF calibre in the future. But for now I just don't want to lose the slot, as I think I read your post CBF about losing the slot for not putting in the variation ? steve_b_wales
Just sell the .22 Rifle. Inform the police that you wish to have another .22 rifle added in lieu of the one sold. Once that is on your ticket, you can buy another .22 at your leisure. You'll have to join me soon for some squirrel bashing. Steve

Haha, actually Im glad I got the 22lr first Its very cheap for plinking and a great starter gun, Id hang onto it but need the ££ for the 17 which is better suited for hunting and such, plus I did at first want a 22 semi auto for plinking Probally get a CZ 17HMR Varmint, there's one in my local RFD for a good price so I think I might go tomorrow and put down some dosh on it

Lloyd90
Righto so IF I sell, I need to phone Police to get a variation form (Or print one off , whatever) Then send them a letter informing them of sale and also the variation form. Will have to give it some thought, duno wether to get a slot for another 22 or just try n change it straight to a CF as this is what I plan to do later on neways
