Warlock
I know this has probably been said before but if you need to pay a reduced rate for BASC membership because you are unemployed then shouldn`t you stop shooting because surely your benefits should be spent on other things and if you can afford to shoot on benefits then they are too high. Also why should the unemployed get a reduced rate? everyones rate should be reduced. If they can afford to reduce the rate for the unemployed then either the rest of us are overpaying or the subscription is overpriced in the first place, my land owner has said he would be quite happy for me to swap to another company even though he prefers BASC as he feels that it is wrong. Why is it i have to keep subsidising other people in this country i can`t even get away from it even when belonging to an organisation. Fuji Shooter
Why is it i have to keep subsidising other people in this country i can`t even get away from it even when belonging to an organisation. Well said we are all sick of it. I thought benefits were supposed to be just enough to get by on, I guess not.
410PHIL
There have obviously been a lot of points been raised on this subject, and I for one am a bit disschuffed by the BASC'S decision to award concessions only to those in receipt of job seekers allowance, now if you loose your job due to the current financial pressure on our economy then yes well done BASC helping out those who need it. Where do I stand? I stay at home to look after my two kids and get out shooting as often as my commitments allow. So, I am unwaged but I am not seeking a job - am I entitled to a discount Am I **** !!! I can prove I am unwaged but it's still a big No!! Just wanted to thank the BASC for being so understanding of individual circumstances :good: 410PHIL

I'm really glad some of you lot aren't in charge of the benefits sytem, you'd have everybody in the work houses on treadmills again! I can understand your displeasure against the professional claimants, its the same as mine. However, I don't feel there are many invovled in the shooting community who are so inclined. And like I keep trying to point out, hunting your own game would supplement a meagre budget, 3 quid for 50 22 subs, not too expensive is it? less than a pint and half the price of a packet of fags. The people who are falling victim to this climate don't need further victimisation, and just becaus you don't have a job shouldn't mean a spell of house arrest until you find work. I am dismayed in the discompasionate attitude to some of your fellow shooters, and I hope that for those of you pontificating from your ivory towers that your employment is secure, because if you lose your jobs, I will take pleasure in reminding you you shouldn't be shooting or enjoying yourself in any way til you find work
