farmers son
hi guys, has anybody bin to selby today? whats it like with this weather? is it 1 huge mud bath? or is it hard walk ways? is there much under cover? jus wondering cos wer ment to be takin my grandparents tomorrow..but it depends on the weather etc thanks
The Sniper
Farmers Son, I can only go by previous years experiences when I say there have been no hard walk ways provided. It has been raining on and off all day today ( I don't live too far from Selby ) and I would suspect it will be very muddy over there by now. Let's put it this way, if it looks like being a fine day tomorrow, I will be going, but I will definitely be taking my wellies. Hope this helps you to make a decision. Malc
FS, I've been today and it's funny you should mention taking grandparents..... My parents got lost for an hour after deciding to walk 200 yards back to the car. What a carry on!! Anyway, it's a complete mud bath there, so take your wellies. The good side of this is that the crowds seem to have stayed away because of the weather. So you can move about the fair (in your wellies) quite easily. There's not much for pigeon shooters though. jonno 357
If anyone is going to the game fair tomorrow I can recommend going to visit Paul Hart(the pigeon shooter) at his stall He's selling real tree camo gear at amazingly cheap prices, cheaper than anyone else at the game fair. The quality is excellent He's also selling the usual decoying gear at very reasonable prices Spent an hour watching the clay pigeon shooting. Thought I was bad Take your shotgun along and have a go. Mud was ankle deep though Jonno
