MerseaDavid
Went out today on our main farm who has drilled 300 acres of peas and the pigeons have just started to hit the fields. When we turned up it was really chucking it down and we sat in the truck watching the odd bird fly over a small wood with a flight pond in the middle of it. after about 1/2 an hour the rain stopped and we decided to set up by the wood so we could shoot 2 of our pea fields. We set up 10 shell decoys and 1 new crow decoy on one of the fields and the dead birds we shot we put on the other field. the birds came in all day in all sorts of way (high, low and very fast) and in some good sized groups. We ended the day with 142 pigeons 1 crow 1 rabit and 6 doves. Not bad for a cold wet windy day.

MerseaDavid
nice what pattern with the decoys did you use? cheers! We did not really use a pattern, we just ran out spread the birds out here and there and got in the hide quick because pigeons were trying to land on us out in the field lol. MerseaDavid
My hide. Some more of the bag. The last bird we picked up, toatl body count 112 birds. The rest of the birds were in the pond and we could not pick them up, so the farmer and his son went down with the dogs to collect them for their dinner. No we have not got a dog and we dont wont one either, we find them more of a pain than of any use + it give the farmers dog a chance to play. MerseaDavid
Well I was drilling peas last week on my farm and the pigeons were landing on the field behind the drill and we had to get the another tractor to roll the field to get the seed covered before the bird cleared the field.
