Shooting over peas

Went out today on our main farm who has drilled 300 acres of peas and the pigeons have just started to hit the fields.

When we turned up it was really chucking it down and we sat in the truck watching the odd bird fly over a small wood with a flight pond in the middle of it.

after about 1/2 an hour the rain stopped and we decided to set up by the wood so we could shoot 2 of our pea fields.

We set up 10 shell decoys and 1 new crow decoy on one of the fields and the dead birds we shot we put on the other field.

the birds came in all day in all sorts of way (high, low and very fast) and in some good sized groups.

We ended the day with 142 pigeons 1 crow 1 rabit and 6 doves.

Not bad for a cold wet windy day. :)
