Blackbart
A coupe of weeks ago my mate got a call off the licensing and they said we want to come out with him and have a look at his land to see if it's still ok to shoot !!The land has already been passed ? Anybody else heard of this or had it done to them ?
Warlock
The only time i have heard of land needing to be rechecked is down to environmental issues like change in landscape or development of local/neighbouring land. This usually occurs due to a report or information being called in.
Dave-G
I'm told land checks are now valid for five years. I don't know if that is national or local policy but I suspect it may be down to the amount of land being built on these days. Towns and cities are constantly moving towards the country and some areas that would have been acceptable for a new shooter a few years ago may now be next to housing estates or busy new roads etc.
Blackbart
It's still farm land and has not changed since the romans put a wall on it ! Just wondered if this was something new from the firearms dept.
blackbird
When I had my land checks done FLO informed me once the land is cleared it goes on the firearms dep PC & will not have to be checked again.
Andy H
Leicester firearms dept have started to recheck the land on all applications even if cleared previously due to the amount of new housing estates and roads being built on what was previously open field farmland. hawkeye
About 5 yrs ago my golf course was checked and cleared for .22 rimfire. Last year the course manager told me the firearms officer was coming out to check again.. When my ticket was renewed last Nov i asked the FEO why and was told they have to be checked every 5 yrs didn't make any difference the fact my ticket has been open for years..
