steve_b_wales
Bulletboy and me went up on my permission last Saturday to try again for some crows. The farmer phoned me the previous evening to say that there were 'thousands' up there and that they were hammering his newly planted wheat. We set up with the hide, and placed decoys and some previously shot (and thawed out) crows. We also placed a crow on a floater further up the field. We waited for ages, then a crow flew above me. I missed. Then another flew past mark, and he missed too. Then nothing came by us at all. We looked across all the fields, and there was not a crow in sight. We decided to pack up, and just drive around the farm, hoping to pick a crow off in the fields, using my .243. After some time, we saw a few crows across the other side of the farm. There was a safe backstop, so I decided to take a shot. The 65gn V Max hit it square on. One nil to us! We used the rangefinder and it was 149 yards. A few minutes later, on another field, there were a few more crows, and now it was Mark's turn. He took the shot and another crow fell victim to my Tikka T3 Lite. This crow was measured at 140 yards. Nothing else could be seen, and after awhile, we called it a day. We both enjoyed it though, despite the 'thousands' of crow's being somewhere else! The 1st photo is the crow I shot, and the 2nd photo is Mark's. Edited April 13, 2009 by steve_b_wales

rarms
Not trying to put a damper on things, but just a thought following on from the thread about facebook, but unless you have crow listed on your ticket for the .243 or vermin etc... Then it might not be too wise posting photos regarding its effects...
Billy.
Not trying to put a damper on things, If he's got an FAC shotty, I will safely assume he has it on his ticket.

steve_b_wales
What's the fox got to do with my post of shooting crows? It would have been better putting this on a new post.

gubby_uk
Reminds me of a long day sat in a hide. Nothing doing after about 6 hours, so out of boredom/spite I let fly at a rook from 10 yards with a .270. Big bang, big cloud of ****/feathers, no more rook. Must admit though, it's not very sporting

Bleeh
So, you've got ''crows'' next to fox and deer on the conditions on your FAC?
