starlight32
Did many of you go shooting over the Easter holidays? I only had one day free over the break, and had a nice freshly drilled field of peas to go on. However after speaking to a mate he mentioned it ain'nt worth the hassle going out as there is always too many people about and they tend to cast a dim view over shooting on a public holiday such as this one as it has a sort of religious overtone. Anyway the field I was going to shoot backed out onto a church and after the discussion I thought it best to give it a miss. Would any other members on here agree with that statement or is it not worth considering choosing the times you shoot if they co-incide with public holidays? Funny thing is I have to say I have never gave it a second thought, as quite often clay shoots are organized over bank holidays are'nt they? unclemicky
Starlight what I would have done is asked at the church to see what if any the times of the service was , as you can imagine the congregation praying to the sound of BOOM BOOM , you could of shot ether side of the service time as I think the farmers livelihood is more important than some frowns on a bank holiday , now as for shooting the Easter Bunnies , tut , tut , tut Edited April 14, 2009 by unclemicky

Markio
I think i would have asked anyone having a dim view why, with it being a religious holiday, weren't they in ******* church instead of disrupting my shooting. Seriously though, i would have NO problem in going out. EDIT: Missed the bit about it being at the back of a church!! Dammit! mark_mjs93
hey my opinion is, if a pigeon dont take a break we DONT... its simple as, a pigeon wont take a break from munching away on freshly drilled fields because some people dont like it, i mean by all means not on easter sunday, but i mean good friday, and bank holiday monday, just another day of the year realy even with the religious undertone, and im sure pigeons will all congregate to destroy a field when we aren there, they are plotting people, so watch out for pigeons, they are ones to watch... Ozzy Fudd
if i was close to a church id either find out the times of service or give it a miss altogether, apart from that it wouldnt stop me - this weekend i went through about 400 .22lr rounds and 300 12 ga shells
SPEEDY
I spent Easter shooting Goats and Pigs with everything from a 308win to a 338/378WBY from 1st light then took the spotlight out rolling Foxes, you should see what a 338/378wby does to a Fox at close range with a 250gn grand slam
