harrybarry
I am new to the site so be gentle, i have taken up clay shooting and i am struggling with some of the traps at my local shooting ground. I cant hit right to left crossers all the others i do ok, i am left handed by the way has anybody heard of this before or do you have any tips. A lesson or two is my idea. Catamong
Yes, a lesson or two with a good coach will help you get sorted before your bad habits become too engrained. Fill in your profile and you will get recommendations from people as to the best coaches in your area. Cat.
Chard
It's quite common for left hookers to struggle a bit on right to left crossers and vice-versa. I'm right-handed and I'm not as confident with left to right crossers as I am with right to left, so the opposite of you really. A bit of practice and a lesson should sort it out, but you will probably always shoot left to right crossers better
beretta
its away from your natural swing (left to right) go see your nearest coach, easily sorted and could be as simple as foot position.

fuzrat
the missus had the same problem she too is a lefty. It was all in the feet. She was set up with her feet pointing too close to the trap and was running out of swing. A little shuffle round and all is well :look: Fuzrat
Devilishdave
Point your right foot straight at the point you intend to kill the bird and your left foot at the 10 O'Clock position about 8 inches apart and put 70% of your weight over your right foot. Swing the gun smoothly through the target once you have the required lead squeeze the trigger and keep the gun moving Easy!! Dave

Yet I can hit left to right doing anything all day long. My Mum always said I was a bit special. FM

FM you will be shooting over the top. make your set up point more to your left. devilishdave. dissagree with pointing your foot where you intend to kill it as this will be near the point your swing starts to run out. if your right handed and shooting l/r crosser your right shoulder will start to drop at about this point usually meaning a miss over the top. it IS a good pick up point for r/l crossers though. opposite the above for lefties.
