old rooster
Tesco have announced a record 2 billion pound profit, no doubt bolstered by their illegal employment of cheap labour (illegal immigrants). Hardly surprising they are taking £1 in every £3 spent in supermarkets, thet are not only taking your money but also your jobs. They are high priced, have **** customer service attitudes and take no notice of employment legislation despite being caught out on more than one occassion. apbuild
Lost our local greengrocer to nearby supermarket pressure. Lost our local butcher because waitrose bought his shop to demolish it , and others, to build a new superstore which is looking more like a prison by every passing week. Now maybe losing our local bookmaker because Corals are opening a shop in the town. I really do hate all of these money grabbing multi national concerns!!!! digger
mate of mine is a shepherd and will get me a whole lamb (butchered) for £45.that is one hell of a lot of meat, kind of makes paying £9-£10 for a leg in any supermarket stand out for the rip off it is. my high street is nearly all take aways, charity shops and hairdressers.my nearest butcher is two miles away and gawd knows about a greengrocer.ok,i live in a ****ty area but within five miles are three tescos, five sainsburys, three somerfields two waitrose and a huge asda.plus morrisons. there is a silver lining to the cloud,a butcher i go to (in a garden center of all places) sells the best game pies, venison sausages and free range meat of all kinds this side of smithfield.
