I've been looking to upgrade my air rifle for a while and have been looking around at various different websites; guntrader, UKgunroom and here, I found something I might be interested in on here so I set up an account and send a PM to the seller: Hey, I saw your advert for the HW80 on the forum and wondered if it was still for sale? Do you have any pictures of it that you could send to me (XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@hotmail.com). Cheers Ashley And I sit back and wait, only to receive this: Are you the same ******** that keeps joining in different names to buy my gun? If your geniune send a mobile number for a chat otherwise **** off. Interesting, confrontational from the off, I umm and ahh about whether I really want to deal with this person but figure I'll give it a go and see what happens. No I'm not "the same ********" that keeps trying to buy your gun. Yes I am aware that I registered just before contacting you and that I haven't set up profile yet, I haven't had the time to do so. My mobile number is 07XXXXXXXXXX I'm at work at the minute and don't finish my shift till 21:00 so calling just after that (say 21:10?) would be good (reception here can be a bit dodgy). I would still like to see pictures of the gun by the way. Speak to you later. Ashley So I finish my shift and wait about at work where I know I get reception to make sure I don't miss the call - 20 minutes go by, nothing. 40 minutes go by and still not heard anything, I check my emails and my PM's, nothing. Now given that I was due to start another shift at 03:00 (hence me posting at stupid o' clock) I didn't have all night to wait so I send a PM a go get some sleep: I hope'd you would send pictures of the rifle before our scheduled time to talk, didn't happen. I then sat waiting for 40 minutes for your call at work where I know I get signal, didn't happen. Don't bother phoning about the rifle, not interested any more I'll go elsewhere for one. Ashley I get back to work and find this has been PM'ed to me: lol ... I know its you again, dont you get tired of buying my gun? why dont you get a life you timewasteing ****. Clues, errr just joined, no posts, what a ******* tool. So, back to my original question....is everybody round here this friendly? Or was I just unlucky enough to deal with this one? Anyway, on a more positive note - hello everyone, I'm new here (and still looking for another air rifle!), my main sport is target shooting at the minute (0.22" rimfires up to 100 yards and 7.62 mm up to 600 yards) I'm a committee member of the University of Southampton Rifle Club and am looking to expand beyond target shooting. My only experience outside of target shooting I have at the minute is a couple hundred clays and beating on a couple of shoots for a syndicate that my mate's dad runs, so if anyone in the Hampshire area fancies showing me the ropes of what they get up to just give me a shout, just be a bit friendlier than the one above! :blink: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What an absolute I don't want to buy his gun either but would be happy to register with half a dozen forum names and run him ragged. Posting like that to someone is well out of order. He doesn't deserve to be on here nor does he strike me as the type of person to be allowed to have guns, unless they're made of orange plastic. Gwaaaaan, Gwaaaaan, Gwaaaaan.
