wingnut
Zap don't overdo this moderator thing; you're a mod NOT a B***** Health & Safety expert! I do not know wether Zap is a H+S expert. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with Health and Safety, more like common sense to me, to be absolutely correct, Health and Safety does not apply to any thing done by a person in their own home, thats why you can use all sorts of work equipment (CHAINSAWS?), chemicals, or harmfull substances at home without being trained, competent or authorised. As long as someone follows, and understands the instructions then they should be safe. I am sure the person doing the refinishing of the stock is a switched on individual, and will read the instructions on the chemicals container prior to use. May be Zap is passing some thing on from a previous incident.
shoughton
May be Zap is passing some thing on from a previous incident. Yes, I've heard that he only has 2 fingers and wear an eye patch More seriously - suggesting wearing goggles is good advice. I'm always happy to receive such suggestions - at work I'm a stickler for H&S - but at home I have to confess diving in sometimes without full consideration of risks! A suggestion like this sometimes helps any of us think before we start. A bit like watering the garden in my slippers and getting bollo**cked by the wife when I walk back indoors Steve
