cci stingers what range?

The trouble with Stingers is that they are inherently so much more inaccurate than subs. This means that whilst they will shoot flatter (and therefore should need less holdover etc), they will be too bloody inaccurate to hit what you are aiming at if you use them at longer ranges. :hmm:

CCI stingers are very fast .22lr rounds but you need intervention from God to hit anything with them.

If you are brand loyal use Velocitors. These are nearly as fast and considerably more consistant.

Try as many differing high speed rounds in your rifle to get the most accurate one and stick with that.

thanks all. tried a box last night and they were ok out to about 100yds and a little more. took 33 nice rabbits home with me and had some great shots. have tried the mini mag and never liked them and rws for my rifle were that bad i threw 200 away the worst thing ive put through my rifle so far.

ive used a fair few of these over the years in my cz452 with no problems

i used them for bunny bashing upto around 100 yards no problem on thing about them is the noise

shame cant hush them with moderator

but always have a couple of boxes in cabinet and take a few with me as they wont come in wrong for close range foxes if i not got the 243 with me

but i much prefer subsonics with moderator as you can shoot all day and the rabbits dont scare away unlike when using the stingers

the stingers seem to shoot well in my cz452 there is others in high velocity you could try see if you can find best suited for your rifle

ive never had any stingers misfire (yet)

but hope this helps

and happy shooting

CCi Stingers are the worst .22lr bullet i've ever used, the best grouping I ever got at 50 yards was 3",yup,3"!! try CCi Mini-Mags if you want a faster bullet, mostly around £6.00 per hundred.

Another vote for the CCI Mini Mags. I zero at 90 yds (well, 90 good paces...) and genuinely get 1" groups. It's not too loud but really does give the extra distance over subs. I haven't looked back after deciding to ditch the subs and go down the HV route. Mini Mags are cheap, too.

I found them very inaccurate and went back to subbies. I have not don ethe ballistics on them but from memory the velocity tends to suggest a zero of around 80 yards. Maybe a shade further if you are happy shooting under things at 40-50 yards. I tend to zero so that the max bullet path is 1/2" above line of sight,
