Sqwelchy
HATE HATE HATE them. Been out all day trying to shoot them but nothing. Set the decoys out for the pigeons but all they did was fly over them all day. And them rabbits lots of them out but i couldn't get close enough to them. And if i did they'd run and hide for the rest of the day. I think im doing the right thing. Is there any help yoiu can give please?

JamesLeic
Remember rabbits are very sensitive to vibration near their burrows if they run in sit up in range and out of site near the hedgerow where there burrow is and wait approx 30 min and they should be back if your quiet. Failing this go to another field for abit and come back and try again. Personally when i rough shoot and they have scurried into their burrows in the hedgeline i tuck myself into the trees and hedge rows about 20 yards away and try and find a stump within eye shot then just sit and wait out...20-30 min later they are back and i give them 10 min or so for a good few to go out of the burrow and venture a little further away then let em have it. shoughton
Agree with other advice given - but also think about wind direction. If your scent is carried in the wind towards rabbit they'll know you're there and will remain alarmed. Try stalking them downwind of them - keep as low to the ground as possible being as quiet as you can. Pigeons .... tricky time of the year in many places, my own included. You need to be decoying over what they are feeding on and on a flight line. I'm also assuming that you are well hidden in a your hide and you've got the patterns correct for the wind direction? But we all have days like that now and then anyway! Good luck, Steve

I am guessing you are using an airifle as you wanted the pigeons to land? This will make a difference to some of the advice.... personally with a shotgun roughshooting, I just walk into the wind as much as possible, be quiet walking and never let your scent waft infront of you when you know it is a good bunny area. Change your approach direction depending on the wind. If you are an air rifle shooter, others will give some advice.........
Ozzy Fudd
as malks said it depends what youre using i use shotguns and a .22lr rifle, best thing to do is keep down wind, move slowly, dont silohette yourself, etc etc etc; also after ive fired a shot ill move on from that area and come back later, especially with the shotgun against rabbits (pigeons it doesnt matter so much), with the .22lr i use the time after the shots been fired (5/10 mins usually before they appear again) to get settled into a better position (if need be) to cover the area theyll appear in - worked fine last night! Sqwelchy
Cheers for all of that.Im staying down wind from them, even tried a thing iv read in a mag about planting cress and parsley just outside there burrows but they where having none of it. Im using an air rifle, carn't make my mind up on getting a rimfire/HMR or shootgun. I would like both but its gunna cos me and i dont have an FAC or SGC. Gunna give it a few days then head back out
Ozzy Fudd
go for a shotgun to start with, its great when you dont have to wait for them to land
