Harnser
Had 5 hours on the rape stubble today . A small field of about 30 acres with a nice big oak tree in one of the hedgerows . This is one of my favourite fields to shoot . Set up under the oak with 20 flocked decoys and a magnet . Shot my first bird with in 5 minutes of settling down in the hide just as i was pouring a cup of coffee from my flask managed to put the coffee down and shoot the bird . The highlight of the day was i managed to have three birds dead in the air at the same time with the urika 2 ,havent done that for a long time . Had a nice roe buck walk out of the woodland behind me to with in 30 yards of my decoys . Finished up with 48 birds picked and proberbly another 6 well hit that made the woodland . Avery nice few hours pigeon shooting . Harnser .

Flanker
When nothing much about - pouring a coffee is a sure fire way to attract a bird or too! Never fails.

Kron
A lot of the rape in my area is yet to be cut - at least it was earlier in the week. Unfortunately I'm at my cousins wedding in Cambridgeshire this weekend. A few beers tonight and a shed load tomorrow ought to quell the urge

anser2
Sounds like you had a good day Hanser. Still waiting for the farmers to cut my rape fields. All harvesting seems to have come to a stop for the past 2 weeks. The next door farm was out this afernoon though.
anser2
My rape situation has gone from one extreme to another. Yesterday morning no fields had been cut, when I looked around this afternoon 12 fields had been harvested. No numbers of pigeons on any of them , but I have hopes the birds will find at least one of them in the next day or two.

I blame it on me being tired and not having any lunch
