libs
I have found that if you wait long enough they will come back out maybe once or even twice more. If I do 3 laps around work (60 acres) I can bag maybe 6 at most, after that they just dissapear. The only trouble is if you need to shoot a lot of rabbits in a small area, the 12b just aint the right tool for the job!
BSA-airgunner
if your shooting up to 35 - 40 yrds why not use an air rifle with silencer

Wriggler
I have a similar problem. 3 fields of kale/mangels so I only get to see a flash of white as they are dissapearing 1 field of carrots but the field backs onto a public footpath. Snares are probably a no-no as there are foxes in the area, I see at least one everytime I'm there. I've tried hiding in a hide with an air rifle but they seem to know I'm there. I'm allergic to ferrets - that was going to be my ace. I've found that if I park up and walk the farm lane to the fields I am getting the odd bunny or if I approach by walking round other fields and comming at them through the hedgerow sometimes works. I think I may need to do a bit of lamping - never done it before though and I too prefer the shotty.
Ozzy Fudd
get as close as possible to them, with luck youll get two or 3 shots before they all hit the burrows
George1990
You can get single shot moderated .410 Baikals pretty cheap. I got so fed up with this happening even with my TX200 springer that I applied for an FAC. Now I snipe the blighters long range
Robby22
Wait for a dry windy night, then lamp them (obviously making sure wind is in your face to carry the sound of the shots away from them). I killed 45 last night using that method with my 12g. Good luck

pegasus bridge
i would definitley agree with the comments about wind = if its not windy i wouldnt even bother trying to shoot rabbits with the shotgun, as you need this to mask any noise and vibration made by you when approaching. - try and ambush them on a main run they use and wait, also - if you can find any land being combined - try and wait around the edges - in front of the burrows ; loads of rabbits will be in the crop and will try and head for cover once this has been removed. good luck
Billy.
You'll find that walking the ground will have them on edge and be very had to tempt back out. Unless you have a really overrun patch, that is. By the sounds of it you have a few bunnies there, but they will see you long before you see them. Avoid cloudless nights, you've got no chance on foot on nights like that. If you've got access to a motor, you'll notice they're less spooked as they see the you and the vehicle as a whole and not as two separate things. As said above, it really sounds like you need to be using an airgun/fac rifle. If you've got the land, plus decent backstops, you'll have no problem getting a rimmy. My CZ rimmy is as quiet as an airgun and frighteningly accurate. If you're feeling especially rich, why not invest a few hundred quid in a decent 1st gen night vision scope, plus an IR illuminator. Good luck
