CAN ANYONE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON A GOOD BUT REASONABLE PRICE PRE CHARGE AIR RIFLE. HAVE SHOTGUN BUT WE CAN'T USE IN CERTAIN PLACES BECAUSE OF HOUSES, PLUS THE LITTLE FURRY THINGS HAVE STARTED TO WAKE UP AT THE CRACK OF A 12GAUGE NOW AND ARE BECOMING WARY. I HAVE BEEN USING MY OLD BENJIMEN SHERIDEN .22, WHICH HAS PROVED TO BE VERY AFFECTIVE, BUT THY ARE UNSTABLE, AS THE POWER OF THE SHOTS CAN BE UP FOR A WHILE AND THEN DOWN. SO I WOULD LIKE SOMETHING MORE STABLE AS WE ARE OUT ON A REGULAR BASIS,AND I DO LIKE TO TAKE THEM OUT AS HUMANELY AS POSSIBLE. CHEERS CLYDE

Depends what you consider "reasonable", a pre-charge setup is going to cost you around 150-200 on top of the rifle if you want a divers bottle to fill it off. If that's fine then the smart money seems to go AA S410 but you might be better off buying another springer...depends what you want to spend. Best advantage I can see for you in favour of a PCP is the opportunity to go multishot.

The other option would be to extend your SC to a FAC and go HMR/LR maybe.

CHEERS FOR THE REPLY, WANT TO GO FAC BUT TOO MUCH HASSLE AND ALSO RESTRICTED TO SHOOTING LOCATIONS, THE SHERRIDEN IS CO2, AND HAS PROVED VERY GOOD. DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT BSA ULTRA MULTISHOTS,GOT CHANCE OF ONE CW SCOPE SILENCER AND DIVERS BOTTLE FOR 350-400 FOR THE SET UP, NOT SEEN AS YET BUT BELIEVE THERE ARE A FEW LIGHT SCUFFS ON THE STOCK WILL HAVE TO SEE.

i have a bsa ultra single shot which i share with my daughter[ive 2 more in the cabinet, just depends on what takes my fancy at the time]and it is excellent for the money,i would expect the multi shot to be equally good, although i personaly am not such a great fan of multi shot air rifles, singles just seem to suit me better.that sounds like quite a good deal to me,a few scuffs can always be sorted at a later date if its a problem to you :D:lol::lol:

the bsa ultra seems to get a lot of approval but it has a pafetic shot rate of 30 shots per fill! better off going for an air arms s400 :good: with is about £375 and has 60 shots with the carbine version, and 90 shots in the classic version. they are very comfy and easy to load as i have heard ultras are tricky to load.

 gotta agree there - bsa ultra is a nice gun to use but poor on shots-per-fill & i personally don't like the filling probe either. aa s200 or s410 are good choices for precharge, as is the logun solo, or you could save a lot of cash & buy a decent springer such as a weirhauch hw95 (or similar) in .22 :good:

Got to be the BSA Super Ten, simply the best right up to the legal limit, regulated for accuracy at no extra cost unlike other manufacturers and time proven, and the ********, I use mine alot in a similar situation to you round Horses and on a Bowls green where the little ******** use to enjoy the grass lol--------------no more

lol

Had an ultra single shot in .177, imho- utter ****. Awkward to load, awkward to fill and only 25 full power shots to a charge.

I have to agree with aaron on this. My first PCP was an AA s400. I bought a moderator for it and had a regulator fitted. I zeroed it at 30 yards and used to be able to shoot pellet on top of pellet at that range. The great thing is, you can get a decent s/h one for less than £400

My sub 12ft lb pcp is a falcon pf18 mp in .177 its very lightweight even with lamping kit attached and seriously accurate with daystate pellets. The blueing is superb and the magazine system although fiddly to start ( i dont have any of the later type magazines)with is a doddle to use. Only slight downsize is that i only get around 35 full power shots but as i rarely use that many when hunting its not a problem. Anyway as i have a 3lt faber in the boot of my disco ive always got a 'top up' to hand.
