wattsowatts
Checked out one of my permissions this morning hoping that they were cutting a 30 acre field of beans, to give me some shooting next week. Could see that they were cutting, but to my surprise and disappointment, they were ploughing straight after the combine. Hundreds of seagulls, but not much else. Guess I’m not going to get much shooting over this field next week?

MerseaDavid
It is still worth watching the fields mate, quite often there will still be seed left on top and the pigeons will be on the field but not for long
wattsowatts
Checked the field out tonight, no pigeons but there was 50+ crows/rooks. Might give it a go after work tomorrow night?
Cranfield
Its well worth keeping an eye on any stubbles that have been disced, or turned over (especially beans).

wattsowatts
Absolutely right Stillsy. I posted the “Open Barn Door” topic a couple of days ago. My son and I went on the field on Sunday, it was grey with birds. Our shooting was **** though, for 99 shots we had 27 birds!!!!! The magnet was worth it’s wait in gold on Sunday. Although the pattern was pulling the birds in, as soon as we put the magnet out they became suicidal. Trouble with this though, is that I’m loosing my memory, I forgot to charge the battery from the last time out, so it only last for just only hour. anser2
Edward - Quote "Because they are a pain in the ***, make an annoying nose and **** every where" . That is hardly any reason to shoot gulls. In a very few cases they may cause problems with wild duck , but otherwise shooting gulls only gives shooting a bad name.
