Boromir
My works Defender's window wipers are not working right. When you put it on intermittent it constantly goes and when you turn them off the wipers stop halfway across the screen any idea what it is? Thanks

BaconBoy
i wouldn't worry mate, mine are exactly the same,i've never had intermittent, when mine stop they do gradually lower themselve to the bottom of the screen, sometimes they even stop themselves, magic, and the lever sometimes comes out(security i spose) the joys of owning a landrover

stokie
Sorry guys you may be wrong .The wipers are the same as a mini . They have a plug in parking switch built into the side of the motor . It is a replacable part and costs about £6 . The only pain is you need to dismantle the dash to get it out
DaveB916
Not on my 300 Tdi Defender was definitely the relay 110% Dave B
Traztaz
Now what a mini has I do not know, but a Landrover has an abortion of a wiper mechanism that is the devils own vomit to replace. There is no replaceanble part on the motor, and the relays are clearly made in downtown Uzbekistan and last 2 wet weeks and a dusty day.......................complete carp!! Get the relay changed and I am sure your problems will go away, that said if you need a quick fix/are to skint to replace it you can ****** about with the wiring to the relay which then gives you intermittent, but no self park.............. BUY A JAP WAGON!!

EvoCars
can be either, the relay, or the copper parts in the switch on the motor crack from metal fatigue and dont switch the motor off in the correct down position
