New application forms

I’ve just received new application forms for coterminous fac and SG certs. Aren’t they different from the last ones I filled in? There doesn’t seem to be any mention of ammunition or expanding missiles of how much to buy or how much in hold. There isn’t the form to get the landowner or club to sign. It’s all pretty minimal. I’m surprised. I'll have to read it all over again.

Does anyone use a photo shop or other application to produce the pictures required? I’ve always used the booth in Tescos?

I received two letters both the same thing notifying me that renewal was due and that I would be comiting an offence if I held weapons and didn't reapply. but no application forms. I rang the office and was told that I could download the forms online. So basically they can send me two letters the same but can't send the forms and its down to my expense to provide paper and ink to provide forms. It's not the cost its the principle and the thought pattern behind all of this nonsense. Anyone got any idea of the waiting time for a renewal in Kent at the present time?

There is no buy allowance now, just a hold amount.

I've noticed that the ammo section has changed quite a bit as there used to be a difference between the amount of complete rounds and the amount of expanding missiles Tips ? heads that you could hold or buy. on page 4. I've just rung Kent Police and asked to speak to the firearms department >> This is after going through all of the usual phone selection options to be told by the operator that the firearms department don't take calls anymore and to either leave a voice mail or an Email. I then asked who the Feo is for this area and was told that they don't know. I did leave a voice mail but who knows when I will get a reply? Not very good is it. AND there are more cuts on the way. I expect the feo will come out on a pushbike at some stage. Anyone on here got any idea of the ammo status now? Is it still rounds and tips or is it just a mass amount?

It is just a holding allowance now. Obviously any expanding bullets count against this but non expanding don't until built as a live round.

sounds a reasonable assumption. BUT I was always told >> "Never assume" because you'll make an *** out of YOU & ME. ***/u/me.

I wonder how long it will take for them to call me back?

The ammunition certificate now reflects the new application form 201 which does not distinguish between purchase and hold anymore. No assumptions made I'm afraid it's just due to the change meaning a removal of some of the time consuming and error prone areas of certification.

Thanks for the replies. Why has the system stared out the word for a four legged animal out? There isn't a letter R in the word. That is an American ism. I'm not talking about whooping anyone's four legged animal. >>EG. " I'm going to whoop your>> (four legged animal) >> for you boy"

After thought about this. If you go into a shop to buy expanding tips & soft point tips /heads /bullets How is this shown / notified on the new certs? How do you show that you can buy expanding if you have just got an amount of ammo on the certificate?

As in the past, complete ammunition and expanding bullets will, on purchase, be entered on your certificate. Again, as on your old certificate, the expanding ammunition condition will be printed on your certificate, thus authorising you to purchase such ammunition.

The only difference is that now your certificate will only show the total of rounds you may hold, you can purchase any amount upto that figure as long as your purchase and what you have in stock does not exceed the hold allowance on your certificate.

On the old app form there was a diferentiation between rounds and ex missiles but on the new app form it just asks how many rounds you want to hold. SO how are they going to know IF you want exp mis or you target shoot and just want fmj and then if it states you can hold XX rounds how are the shops to know if you can buy exp mis? I didn't get a call back toay so I will try to get through to speak to someone tomorrow.

There will be a listed condition authorising expanding missiles. The number you can hold is not specified only the total so if say it says 500 rounds it's upto you how they are used between full rounds and expanding missiles. On the application you will be stating if you have land to shoot on or the use is target shooting by what you specify as the reason for each firearms use. Form 201A does explain it all.
