webber
For new PW members, and established ones who have short memories, the idea is: The proposed objective is to be in or around the woods for around noon. Small groups of approximately 4 guns works well. Locate Grey Squirrel dreys, and evict the occupants either by poking or shooting out the dreys. Kill as many Grey Squirrels as possible. Record the number on the PW running count for 2010 At an appropriate time subject to local conditions, (around 3pm) take up position to shoot Wood Pigeon as they come into roost. Record the number of Wood Pigeon shot on the PW running count for 2010. Enjoy some shooting with friends. Squirrel Dreys should only be shot if you are confident that they are occupied by GREYS, under NO circumstances should dreys be shot if there is even a chance of RED SQUIRREL being present in your area. I'm supporting the PW National Day for Grey Squirrel & Woodpigeon; Saturday 13th February 2010, are you? webber

webber
8 guns out yesterday on our shoot. Not many pigeon about, no wind to speak of, more of a draught really. 2 Grey Squirrels shot and 9 Woodies. I've posted the result in the PW counts. Many thanks to all who took part in the Pigeon Watch National Day for Grey Squrrel & Woodpigeon 2010 webber
MC
I was out with Markio and Poontang in one of my woods. There were hardly any pigeons and Poontang was the only one to shoot a pigeon. Markio shot a squirrel and I busted a drey apart with 3 shots after watching a squirrel go into it only to have two squirrels come out of it. It was the fastest reload ever and I shot both of them. I will be roost shooting the next two saturdays and we are going to try a different wood next week.
