  1. I have tried smoking them out with smoke grenade things used for Paint Balling, I have also tried this on rabbits and it had no effect, probably because the things r non toxic lol and they just sit down the hole. I have smoked out rabbits with an only landy and that seemed to work. Not tried it on rats though… Crow
  2. The semi-auto is a very good tool, most modern gas operated semi’s produce very little recoil which can be useful when shooting large numbers cartridges. Or if the shooter is new to the sport or does not like a large amount of recoil, They also give you the advantage of having a 3rd shot. On the whole they are a very good tool apart from when they have mysterious empty case ejecting problems (see my other topic lol ) I personally believe after trying quite a few different types and makes that Remington make the best and most reliable apart from when they have mysterious empty case ejecting problems problem (again see me other topic lol ), I am sure that others find different ones better but I find remingtons to be the best. I also shoot s/s’s on game shoots and when wildfowling but when it comes to pigeon shooting, rabbit shooting (back of pick up truck) they they r the best tool for the job. Crow
  3. The gun is totally clean, I except for cleaning the gas holes in the barrel, the guns action is in no way rough or jerky, it is in fact very smooth. It just will not eject the empty cases it keeps getting stuck and I have to pull them out crow
  4. Ok I have a problem with an 11-87 and just thought someone on here may have had the same problem or know how to fix it. ok this is what has happened, the gun recently had major part of its action replaced (see attach image showing piece). It has also had a new gas seal fitted on it as the old one wore up. What happens is when I go to shoot it, it sometimes does not eject the empty shell after it has been shot and it jams in the action, but other times it will eject the shell fine and reload the next one. it will also sometimes eject the shell and not close the action even if there is another shell in the magazine tube. I know that this problem is not caused by the type of cartridge used as I have tested it with numerous makes to see if it makes any difference. What I believe to be the problem is this new major part of the action is stiff and needs some shots though the gun to wear it in. The other thing which I think it might be is a carbon build up in the 2 holes in the barrel which the gas escapes out of after each shot. I have also taken the gun to a gunsmith and he has striped it down and had a good look and thinks there is nothing wrong with it. I will take the gun back to be looked at again but I thought someone on here may have an idea what is wrong with the gun or have a slight idea as I would also like to know. Crow
  5. I would buy some as long as they were not too expensive as I can get the normal ones very cheap. crow
  6. I always find the cardboard box which 250 cartridges comes in is good to sit on. Has to be full as I am far too fat to sit on one that has no support inside. Crow
  7. I don’t shoot on our shoot land during the shooting season as it will scare the pheasants away. A continues shooting most nights does not Attract pheasants, so like I said in the winter months go over to a local farmers who don’t put pheasants down. Crow
  8. the fields around me have cows on them, the pigeons and crows love poking through the cow poo to find worms and stuff, if not this then I roost shoot them. crow
  9. I can only decoy them on our shoot at the end of the shooting season. Through these months when I have no shooting I move onto local farms or the Field behind my house. crow

  12. Working on a shoot 2 day picking up, got cold as the guns took over an 1 hour 2 have lunch and also got wet as when I was sitting in a ditch bank facing into the ditch to avoid low flying shot as I could not stand any further behind the guns, when the end of the drive came I went to get up and forgot my dog was on a lead , this was then followed by the dog trying to jump the ditch with me still on the end of the lead , this then meant that I was pulled sharply into the very wet deep water below with a happy dry dog on the far bank . End result a very wet picker up in not a very good mood to let the dog find some game :< . Crow

  18. I wear ear protection when on the rare chance I am shooting on driven day or if I am clay shooting. I must admit I tend not to wear them when shooting pigeons, wildfowl or crows/rooks. I must buy a pair of the old electronic ones i dont wear nomal ones as i use my hearing when shooting crows/rooks and wildfowl to find what direction they are coming from. Crow
