well i agree with most who have replyed to this topic the 17 in my eyes is not a suitable tool for shooting foxes ok if its a close in fox then maybe but 190yards well thats just plain carelesness some folk with cf rifles would think twice about shooting that distance like they say if the fox had moved a fraction of an inch it would of ran off with its jaw missing and would of starved to death which is not humane means of dealing with fox if you want to shoot foxes why dont you aplly for a c/f rifle that is more than capable of doing the job 17 is ok for long distance bunny bashing but at 190 yards they dont have enough energy left another thing does your local force class fox as vermin and did you get fox as a condition for getting the 17 or did you just put it down for use on rabbits i myself like alot of other guys own shotguns and a .22rf for bunnys and a cf .243 for foxes and deer i hope to hell your mate never trys to shoot a deer with the 17 or a .22rf at a 190yards

well on one of the farms i shoot on a vixen has moved in and has 4 cubs and i ask the farmer if they cause any problems and he said no so they will be left alone and he has not lossed one lamb this year i seen the vixen carrying a rabbit while i was shooting but i guess there is plenty of rabbits for me and her and the cubs aswell so i guess i wouldnt shoot a cub as they seem to be doing some good clearing the land of rabbits and other vermin aswell as carrion so theyll be left alone for the time being mind you once they are older and stray on to the other farm i shoot on which has chickens im afraid they will have to be controled

hi mark i think most subsonic .22 have the wax (bullet lube) on them some more than others i also use the cz452 and never had any problems with any getting stuck etc ive used magtec .22 rf bullets which are ok for bunny bashing only problem with them is that they dont use a clean burning powder leaves residue in the barrel but nothing a cleaning rod and brush wont clean out if you worried about to much lube on the bullets try rubbing them with a cloth to take some off it usually comes off mine when they been in my pockets for a few hours

i got a tracer atom tactical it ok for rabbiting which is pretty good but i set about making a gunlight and it cost pennys to make check my topics for gunlight

maybe you can leave the chokes off the gun so then you will have a straight cylinder , but not to sure if you can do that with your gun i wouldnt put then through a full choke for no one as the preasure would increase to fantastic levels best be safe than sorry but straight cylinder would be the best way to go , if unsure maybe ask your local gunsmith or if you know who makes the slugs try and find their phone number and give them a ring they will tell you whats best to use hope this helps

foxes have good point and bad points i guess they do need to be controled , but they do do some good aswell clearing up dead carrion etc i recently shot some crows and had put them in the hedge row went back a few days later and they were all gone so i guess they do a bit of cleaning the countryside which isnt a bad thing i also like to see them out and about aswell as the countryside wouldnt be the same without them

hi hodge i had one of these years ago maybe if you get the webley pro system silencer thats what i had on mine no threading needed as it uses coller bushes which go around the barrel and tighten as you tighten the main nut hope this helps

maybe a plastic pipe clamp will do the job or take a look at my topics and look for my home made gun light maybe that may give you some idea`s

well this is my second atempt of making foam pigeon wings i think this one is better than my first atempt anyway all i need to do is get out one day to try them hopefully should work ok fingers crossed

well this is my first atempt at making them went to the metro centre today and called in to the pound shop for a bird feeder and came across a foam camping matress and set me away think so picked one up anyway and also a tin of grey primer and a tin of white primer only cost 3quid (not bad ) so set about having a bash at making some foam wings so cut the pattern and sprayed them both sides grey and one side the white bands so if they work (will be good if they do ) if they dont, well its only a couple of quid as the primer paints wont come in wrong anyway took a picture to show you all they aint perfect but then again what is

well all your info is sounding very good to me had the plumber here yesterday and he says he could fit the meter there and then but trouble was we didnt know if next doors water was on the same main so had to find out this then they got back home and im lucky as they dont seem to be on the same water main as me as i turned my water off outside and my water supply went off and theirs didnt was also telling the lass next door i was getting a meter fitted and now she is thinking on getting one aswell as she pays the same as me and here and her hubby are at work all day aswell so thanks again everyone for your replys we have to save somewhere along the line if we dont well who will get richer not us

ok cheers for that landy yeh gas board always have leaks up here for ever digging holes in the roads and paths and a good point on the flushers aswell il bear that in mind aswell cheers again i dont mind paying for the water landy but a mate of mine who has wife and 2 kids in his house is only paying about half as much i dont use hose pipe anymore not got use for one if i need the car washed i can go to my neices and wash it as they dont pay for their water some how i was told by the lass when i foned water board that im also paying for any rain water that goes down the drains which i didnt know so i asked her what happens when it doesnt rain i still get charged for it she says yes and i told her with both of us laughing i should get a rebate for when it dont rain but she says best way would be to have a meter fitted and only pay for what i used

as above was wondering about water meters as im thinking on having one fitted will it save me money as im being charged 35quid a month for water which i think is a bit much so have any you guys got a water meter and what sort of bills you get

single trigger and 2 sears like floating chamber says def sounds like wear and tear on the sears of if got an adjustable trigger maybe could be set to light either way best get it sorted as you wouldnt want it firering on its own which wouldnt be a good thing hope you get it sorted

as above just wondering what bullet wieght others use and the results of them ive just reloaded a few 60grain bullets but not yet tryed them in my 243 im not using full charge as i dont need the full power for where i shoot them just wondering aswell if anyone else doesnt use the full charge aswell

chances are is the bullet going straight through the rabbit and its the addrellinin making the rabbits run on , it happens to me aswell but never found any problems with winchesters s/s

good to see im not the only one to own the model7 remmi does the sound moderator work ok on it aswell noel what sort of reduction does it make to the initial fireing of the rifle as may look to getting one in the future
