  1. when i was abroad.....and we were doing chicken...on an oil drum bbq..(with a lid).....the chicken was done in a pressure cooker first....when it came out it looked like a dead baby.

then we used to dump it into a sweet spicy bucket of stuff which contained beer....honey....plum jam...chilli.....worster sauce....tomatoe puri.....mashed onion ...sugar...

open up the bbq....(not too hot)....chuck on half a handful of Hickory sawdust that had been soaking in water.....chuck on the meat that was covered in the sticky stuff from the bucket

cook until crispy with the lid closed....to allow the smoke to infuse with the meat........get it out and eat.....

dont use pine sawdust....or anything that has been cut by a chainsaw....(chainlube in it)....and yes i do know people who have done this..

  2. Not an expert, but I'm pretty sure some photos of the interior (post disaster) showed fire hoses (presumably in lower levels) coupled to a dry riser.

there was a report that the dry risers were stuffed as yobs had been nicking the brass couplings for scrap..........

  3.

Take Cancer UK as an example. 80% of what they get is spent on fighting cancer. 20% is admin. Oxfam say that they spend 16% on admin. I don't know where people get these 80-90% on admin quotes from!

think what people get mixed up about is when the charities put the collections out to contract.....(not so much now as people have cottoned on to it).....the contractor takes a massive cut and in the end the final reciepient is lucky if they see 10 pence in the pound....even less im led to believe

  4. personally i do much prefer an oil finished stock...and i bet that would look nice.......there are some very talanted people on here that would give you the advice you need...this is not a strip and dip lashings of oil jobby....to end up with something really nice it might take a couple of weeks..............

  5. nothing surprises me anymore..............im getting totally fed up with the whole issue......you know what ..i just really dont care anymore....and to top it all off May is having to deal with the media and the backstabbing ...gravy train jockies dirtbag guttersnipes in her own party...

im not a great fan of May or any of the other ones...i believe what she is doing is not for herself but for the good of the country...........i wish we would all focus on Brexit and get on with things..

sorry ...but im not in a good place about all this anymore...

  6. what gets my goat is the all out war on putting May into a bad light by ALL THE MEDIA OUTLETS..........it is just so openly biased now.........as i said before it is the media who will choose the govt and direction of this country................

the next thing to happen will be "they" will be castigating her because she hasnt visited a motorway pile-up..and done huggy huggy.......all this total and utter carp ..that is being spouted off by the grenfell unfortunates...is really starting to harden me and my attitude to them....and it is the media and the grenfell that is doing it to me..

  7. Yes it only grew very short and sparse.

If l get "permission" today l may get out and do some more.

i would think that is a rare event.....proberly failed due to lack of water......so you want to make the most of it...get stuck in, cause if the pigeons do what pigeons do sometimes , it might become a feeding frenzy... :good:

  8. No I didn't feel confident in getting it lined up properly, so used a stick on ruby fibre optic sight I had lying round and never used.

May get a gunsmith to put a bead back on for but not that bothered about it really.

that sounds good to me...i bet it comes up a treat....good fast target location........

  9. That was a good read about two very good sessions. :good:

You are very lucky, there seems to be very few pigeons in my area of Kent and what there are not interested in the peas.

A few on laid barley and even standing wheat, but not much else.

i was rubbing my hands the other day as loads of barley went down due to the heavy rain and wind.................then 24hrs later ...the damn stuff all stood up again.. ..pigeons hate me..

  10. Motty, it looks like your tongue is well and truly up Muncher's ****.

:oops::oops: .......................really JD......they will be calling him "toenails" next as thats all you can see sticking out......

  11. No one will get done for this....a few will get their wrists slapped, as the building reg's were adhered to at the time...and danger was "risked away" by consultants....there will be a brief outcry...and the usual "lessons must be learnt" guff..........a nice payout to everybody

    end of............

    prove me wrong

  12. i have been watching a pea field everyday since it was sown.............it is now coming into flower and a big fat ZERO on the bird front........it (the field is the only one in the area)....and has attached no interest whatsoever , on the bird front....

we have birds about...and are lazily flying up and down hedgrows...but they are not interested.............

4 years ago i was shooting 3 times/week and in each short session i could bring home 20-30 birds...............

so to you both...well done and get it while you can.. :good::good:
