  5. it is reconditioned.....its just the nature of the beast.....to be quite frank i prefere it to use a bit of oil....then i know it is been lubed......CAT engines use about 1/2 pint a day.... i pay £23.00 for my pure mineral oil 4 litres........its 15w/40
  6. this is the guide/cradle that keeps the loading arm straight when cocking ....the cocking arm was none spec and damaged and it scaped and damaged the cradle...i have a new cocking arm coming and when i fit it ....it will slide smoothly thro the cradle which i have flattened off now....this while also be greased unlike the rest of the rifle...
  7. the ram gets polished (last two pics)
  8. now flatterend and polished...the spring will slide on it quiter...last pic is of the ran minus the piston...
  9. this is the spring guide....it was rough...so it was emeryied down then polished......only a little thing but if you add all of the little bits together you get a big improvment ..
  10. just more from different angles ..will keep oiling until the depth of colour sits well with the ironwork...
  11. Just gave the wood a quick buff up before taking the gun apart and oiling it more.......
  12. children ripped apart with nuts and bolts...................words totally and utterly fail me.... on side issue the first person to condemn this attack was Claude Juncker.......it sniffed of politics to me....Sort of "if we are together we can be stronger"...he didnt say that but thats how it was delivered.......... This act is almost the norm in the rest of the world...pakistan...Israel....Iraq....Turkey....almost a daily ocurrance........we need to wake up and smell the coffee how an earth must the families feel...............
  13. i had to read that post 4 times before i began to understand it...............to be fair mine doent leak at all it just burns a bit over time...about a cup full every month and a half..... councelling is available at your local landrover support group..........
  14. have just been messing about with pellet sizes...(ere we go again)....doing the same now as with the AA .22........... i have some old stock milbro select 177....but they seem to drop too far into the barrel about 1/4"...instead of staying flush with the breech.................they measure all the same ...good uniformity....4.5mm head size..(as said on the tin) 4.7mm skirt size................ and recomendations for pellets for this animal................i see Air Arms are doing a 4.52mm head size...any one tried them........ cheers

  20. a little bit more oil on today......just a few drops at a time and use the ball of your hand to work up the heat...it will nearly burn you if you are doing it right.... just out of interest for a few... swept volumn of pressure chamber 2.48cubic"......or near enuff...40cubic cm gap between breech and chamber 14thou.....(this is where the breech seal comes into play)
  21. #1...trigger body waiting to receive the piston shaft...(vilking will be along shortly) #2...sear has moved up and trigger strut has engaged #3 ..close up of engaged sear and strut...(fully engaged) #4..this is the strut adjustment screw...you screw it in to lessen the bite on the sear...(so there is less travel for the trigger) #5...this is the strut spring and behind it is the adjusting screw...(screw in the tighten the bite...screw out to lighten the bite)
  22. first pic...the trigger strut sitting firmly into the sear...... 2nd pic...the strut trigger spring...this gives you the resitance on the play/travel of the trigger 3rd pic....is the sear spring engaging the sear and in turn the sear locking onto the piston shaft...(cocked position) 4th pic ...is the piston about to slide into the trigger (uncocked body)
  23. Sort of tuning /cleaning polishing the trigger mech'........i have laid it out so you can see how it sits....with the piston/capture shaft thro to the trigger body....then the sear and onto the sear the trigger strut....
